There are few things I've stuck with this long, what is it about this place? One of the first things I read this morning was the report from two good friends of their wedding and I love that I care so much about it - the nuptials of two people who I would never have heard of, and who might never have come across each other, without this website. How is that?
Do join me in a slice of to celebrate my 8th hootooversary

Hello Christiane, it is meeting lovely people like yourself that makes this place great
A lot has happened in this 8 years, I have, in no particular but roughly chronological order:
been made redundant,
travelled to forn parts,
set up my own company,
dissolved that company,
changed jobs,
lost a ton of weight,
travelled with work,
got engaged,
stopped travelling with work,
got married,
had a baby and nearly died,
gained a ton of weight,
compounded my earlier error and had another baby,
lost some weight again,
and met all of you great people of course, many in real life as well as virtually

However, my dear kelli, I have the advantage of having seen a photograph of your, with your two children, and loaded down with goodness knows what when you went to kew. !!
I have had a stroke - last year, which very few people believed I had had as I was not sort of paralysed, nor did I lose my ability to speak. However, it was a Temporal stroke, and that means your lose youself - you do not know who you are , where you are, etc. this alarmed me enormously.
anyway, thank goodness dear Icy North posted some silly sort of mind game It is supposed to improve your reactions. I set to thinking about it and reckoned that my brain could possibly be re-energised/repaired/ rehabilitated if I did this game of darting sheep. So I sit at my computer, religiously, three times a day, and try and dart sheep. !!
I truly think that my memory has improved. to the extent that I remembered a really frightening experience which I had in 1968 in Matabeleland in Central Africa - part of the old Zimbabwe,- when I had encroached on the territory of a leopard and s/he came back to his/her home.
I am thrilled about it, having just celebrated my 81st birthday, So I am hoping to start writing in earnest now. Gnoman found my first postings and that was in November 2001. So it is very near to you. I reckon I have followed you most of your life on this website. In fact we are old friends. !!
Go well, my dear friend, and have a happy day.
With much affection and hug to each of the boys from their virtual great-grandmother. And regards to your spouse.
Christiane.

Ooooh! Congratulations - and I agree that 8 years is a long time as that's how long I've been with DancingTree. (Jeez, I guess that must mean my hootooversary is next summer.)
Don't mind if I do, thank you very much!
not quite today, but is always welcome.
Tracking things is nice - noticing milestones and so on. It's important to note how you change and improve as you get older.

congrats, Kelli! Hootoo is like no other community I've seen, in that there's a minimum of flamers (although the ones here try harder ) and a maximum of people I can care about. I've been happy to know you and the others I've met here.
BTW, like the numbers in your tagline -- you go, girl!
