Project: Tornadoes and associated weather phenomena

Post 1

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Name: Gosho, 1st Duke of Lamar, Grand Khazi of Guadelupe
Researcher no. U147203
Index page: A788079
Title: Tornadoes and associated weather phenomena

This started off as a Guide Entry about Tornado Alley, USA, and grew into an Entry about Tornado Alley and how tornadoes are formed. Then I started work on another Entry about the Jarell tornado of 1997, and before I knew what had happened, I was planning a project covering all aspects of tornado formation, supercells, Tornado Alley, and tornado safety. Here are the project pages:

Introduction
Thunderstorms
Supercells
How a tornado forms
The Fujita Scale
Tornado Alley, USA
Notable and historic tornadoes
Tornado chasers
Precautions to take when a tornado is imminent
Improvements in tornado forecasting

I may merge the page about the Fujita Scale into one of the other pages.

Start date: August 1st (although I've already begun work on some of the pages)
Finish date: November 1st. I don't think I could do this in six weeks - my computer access is really quite limited. It's usually only an hour or two each day, and that's to do everything - check my mail, read the news (BBC of course smiley - blush), and reply to my h2g2 posts. Some days I don't manage to get on at all. I could probably devote an average of 15 to 30 minutes a day on the project.

smiley - blush Probably because I said that I'd take over the admissions office. I was on holiday four weeks ago, and must have missed this in my conversation list when I got back. Sorry about that! I'll add you to the uni when I'm back in the office. smiley - ok Thanks Bossel for bringing it up in the list again. smiley - hug

I'm sorry Mina, but due to a personal matter which requires my immediate attention, I'm going to have to withdraw this project for the time being.

I'll let you know when I'm ready to re-submit.

Hi Gosho,

Thanks for letting us know. I hope everything goes well.

We're going to leave it on the projects page for now, because it'll save me some work. We don't currently chase projects if they overrun, so you're quite safe.

Thanks Mina smiley - hug

I'll be coming back to it as and when I can - 50% of the problem was resolved yesterday, but there's still a lot of stuff to deal with over the next few months, and Scouting takes up so much time.
