Project: Comic Book Heroes
U168592 Posted Nov 8, 2005
I'd forgotten about this Project sorry all.
Everything looks to be well on its way. However -
We need someone to write an Entry about Wonder Woman (perhaps a comic book/Joss Whedon fan).
We've lost our allocated Sub Editor (It was Master B, but he is conspicuous in his absence).
And I've actually got to get off my proverbial donkey and do the Entries I said I would.

Hmm. I *might* be able to do a Wonder Woman entry, but it would focus on the comic book incarnation, as I only vaguely remember the TV series and there isn't much to say about the movie yet!

That would be fab-u-loso! (I was thinking only a brief mention of Linda and the Joss Whedon flick myself - they would probably warrant Entries in their own right )
We've still plenty of time, I reset the deadline for just before Christmas. I've a few other things going on at the moment, but I should be able to get the Marvel ones done. I'm not very knowledgable about DC characters.
Thanks again D.

Superman entry done and dusted, though with countless editing to be done for sure and many a link to be added. But the actual body of itself is pretty much done and that's a load off my mind. Suggestions, as ever, are feared but welcome.

Looking fab! I'll get working on the other ones as soon as I can really. Other work has come along at the moment, but the Pheonix will rise! (not Jean Grey mind you)

I have now written a first paragraph and some headers for a Wonder Woman entry, in order to shame myself into writing the rest of it!

I know its a lot of work but I'm wondering if someone mightn't do an entry on the Justice League of America, it popped up in my Superman entry somewhat and doubtless it should be in Batman's entry...if not I'll put Batman in as an accomplice though Supe should also go in his methinks.

David - No rush, this Project is a real slow burner...
Tony - If you want to write one about the Justice League, go for it! I was thinking that GL, Flash, Martian Manhunter and even Plastic Man could do with Entries, but a single entry on GL would be almost impossible - seeing as there's so many of 'em! (and the Flash). Nice to mention those heroes without doing a whole huge Entry on them (plus there's an excellent book caled Ultimate JLA I think which is a brill reference tool). This Project will probably be a long time coming, so if you feel up to it then I say yes sir, carry on!

How about some British comic book heros? Let's not forget we've made a few, Alan Moore's eponymous V for Vendetta character or perhaps more of a comic book character John Constantine. I'm sure there are a few others, MJ's better to make this decision

Opti - Hi! Nice to see you drop by
There are so many comic book heroes out there you've got oodles to choose from!
At the moment we seem to have the pick of the bunch, but Tony is right, not really any English representatives
I'm keen to steer clear of any Japanese comic characters though, as I believe Manga and Anime is a world of its own
Here's a few suggestions - if any take your fancy let me know:
1. This first lot will probably fit into the Comic Book Heroes Uni Project best theme wise:
The Incredible Hulk (I was going to write this one, but am finding it a bit slow going so might have to just focus on my favourite - Iron Man)
Captain America
Thor
Aquaman
Elektra
The Fantastic Four
Nick Fury & Shield
Black Widow
Green Arrow
2. This next lot are more alternative and lesser known heroes, but still vaild.
Madman
Ghost
Grendel
Captain Britain
Hellblazer (John Constantine)
The Preacher
The Atom
Dr Strange
MoonKnight
Black Panther
Hope that helps

there are quite a lot here and I don't really know any of them that well except for the incredible hulk and the fantastic four I think I am going to have to consult my bf as to what he thinks and write an entry with him.

I did have my eye on that one and the incredible hulk cos I know of them and I know the fantastic four is a favourite of my bf's so I'll do the fantastic four if I may

What's not to like? You're keen as mustard and probably not as disgustingly yellow as custard. It's all good
Will add you as Researcher for F4 - have fun!
(take a cue from all the other Comic Book Entries if you get stuck for ideas...)
