A Conversation for Infinity... it's odd

it should be noted that not all math functions involving infinity will equal infinity, ie. any number/infinity will give you an answer so close to zero that it is not even worth being considered anything but zero. this is one of the driving forces behind limits of equations in advanced math, something you should never learn if you value your sanity.

I have referenced this article in one of my entries, and returned to re-read it this morning.
However, upon my re-reading, I wonder if I've found a discrepancy.
Under "multiplication", you ask "What is infinity * infinity? Well, it's infinity".
Wouldn't Infinity * Infinity REALLY be "Infinity Squared" (or Infinity^2, if you prefer) just as x * x could be 2x OR x^2???
Of course, Infinity^2 IS still equal to infinity, but I find the dropping of the exponent troubling.
Key: Complain about this post
