It's the other halfs cat and she wont let me kill it despite its many and varied attempts to kill me, slash on the bed, crap in my shoes and generally hate me

She wont let me have one.
There's hundreds of strays here. I want the alsation that hangs around by the cake shop, but I'm not allowed it. I'm not even allowed to have a gypsy
