This would definately have to be one of the places I would best fit in. I've been programming since I was 11 on my Commadore Pet (Weeeee BASIC!).
Languages: Java, C, C++, wee bit of Pascal, HTML (Yes, I know it's not a programming language, but it IS a Language ), JavaScript, sure there's a few more, but those are the major ones.
Programming environment of choice: Linux consol
Editor of choice: Vim (no, I'm not looking to start a flame war about editors. It's just FYI).

Heh, Emacs is a good operating system, but I perfer Vim for editing. As for selling points, well simple navigation of files, possible syntax highlighting. Generally the main two editors used in Linux are either Vim or Emacs (and there have been many flamewars over which is better), and to a lesser extent pico and others.

Ah, right - I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to Linux. Although it has just recently replaced Windows as the default boot on my machine...
Emacs did take an awful lot of figuring out
Still, it works now

Yes it does take a while to get used to it, although there are many editors on linux, esp SuSE.
