here's something i've been curious about...

although i've almost never done it, there's nothing daft about picking a scorer from the team you predict to lose... a FH becomes impossible, but it's a way of hedging your bet.

what about more extreme cases? for example, choosing a score of 1-0 but choosing scorer as "none" (indicated clearly as such so it's not seen as simple forgetfulness)... would that be accepted? in case of a 0-0 draw, you could pick up the 2 scorer related points. if you chose "1-1(none)" you could get 4 points from the same result.

inversely, if you feel nil-nil to be a likely outcome, but in case of a goal it seems clear who would score it, you could go something like "0-0 (beattie)"... if he scores to give united a 1-0 win you get 2 points.

i don't think anything like this has been done or even discussed before, but it doesn't seem unfair or against the rules to me.
