And so it goes... another season over. Another season won by the force of nature that is Ormondroyd - I've lost count how many times he's pulled this off. Let's just call it 'most of them'.

Some pleasing scores this week, even allowing for the fact that it was double portions. Ormy's 21 was not enough to win this week, in fact it was only good enough for joint 4th place. But of course it was good enough elsewhere. The winner this week with a cool 24 points was Megachedda who has rejoined us after a break. Well done sir

Right, that just about wraps it up for year. I hope my delayed (often much delayed) marking and setting hasn't spoilt your enjoyment of the season. Hopefully I will have more time next year when I return with Season 20

Hmm...a completely undistinguished season for me. No full houses and no weekly tops. Possibly my worst performance since that Summer Break fiasco.

I think that's what you call a well-timed run! After some recent near misses, including the final-week collapse alluded to by Orcus earlier, it is very gratifying to come out on top again for what, assuming A999912 to be accurate, is my seventh Fantasy Football title. When I heard about Steve Hunt's hotly-disputed late winner for Reading, I did wonder if that might just have swung the League my way. It looks like that was indeed the case, so Orcus is entitled to feel very unlucky. is, as they say, a cruel game sometimes, and to Orcus for being so sporting and philosophical about it.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a close, exciting contest, and especially to GreyDesk for doing the organising and marking. I'm particularly pleased to see that a twentieth season is being planned, because I had wondered if that Last Chance Saloon title actually meant that the competition was going to cease. Even if there are no more mats, I'm sure that GreyDesk will come up with a cool new prize!

A merry Christmas and a great 2008 to one and all, and I'll see you for FF20 after my New Year's Day trip to the Fraser Eagle Stadium, Accrington. I bet you're all REALLY jealous now!

Ah well - another season of mediocracy - thanks to Grey Desk, congratulations to Ormy - Though I wouldn't call him a farce of nature, and everyone else for playing in the spirit that we'd like to see echoed on the actual turf.
