Of course we are not alone! Even if there would be only one habitable planet in a galaxy, even than life could flourish on hundreds of planets.
Why would aliens visit Earth? Because ofthe same thing the fish came out of the sea, the monkey started to explore the world under the crown, and humankind sent out spaceships and radars in vast distances: curiosity.
I do not think, that man could colonise an other planet :D we don't have the thechnology yet, and I don't believe we have the time to get to that level :D
not alone!

Colonising other planets.
It may happen but before we're going to be able to do that we're going to have to distance our seleves much more from out reptilian ancestors.
I'd like to think we'd keep on going and sometime along the way actually become civilised. So even Earth is the only planet in our Galaxy to support life then there are no civilisations in the Galaxy.
Who knows. I'd like to meet ET even though he is unlikey to be there or at least not for a while.
