Sydney Meet...yay or nay?
...Shrillian... Started conversation Feb 11, 2005
Hey everyone. I know that I am the last person that should suggest a meet as I so rudely missed the last two (first due to sheer ignorance of the date and second due to waaaaay too much going on), but I feel that it has been too long since I last imbibed incredible amounts of alcohol in the company of other well inebriated hitchhikers.
So who's with me? I know that Linus will say yes to a meet....AEFAP!!!
I'm sure that Feisor will agree...then back out the day before, Platypus probably won't get this till a week after the meet...Cheesecake is lost IRL without the net... Pond has probably disappeared again...anyone I've forgotten? Tash?? Haven't heard from in a while. And then there's me who will forget the date of the meet and probably write a long ode to the missing of a Sydney meet, lose it, find it, store it safely, lose it again and have missed three further meets in the time taken to recover the original ode.
Hmmm...maybe we should organise a month long meet? That way, we could all just continually drop by the Carlisle? That's if Linus allows us uncouth hitchhikers to tarnish his lovely establishment with our loud and crass presence...
Anyway, let's just get a thread going about it. Haven't heard from you all in a long time and I'm really missing your company (virtual and real).

Shrillian - great to hear from you - even after the snide remark - at least I've managed to get to MOST of them
How's it all going ? I hope that you are really busy being creative and all that.
Meet? Things are really hactic at work at the moment - but let's see if there's any response and I'll see what I can do.

I'm always interested in the prospect of a meet, but it all depends when it is and whether I can get out of Canberra at that time. On that basis, it would be silly of me to start suggesting dates; when a date has been picked, I'll see if I can make it...

I'm about, not 'missing in action'.
I'm also in favour of a new meet. SOMEWHERE else.!!!
How about meet in the city and Paddy MacGuires (capitol square just down form central) or covent garden (in china town) then follow with a meal in China town... or something to that effect, you know something different

I probably should tell you all that i am in the process of buying the Carlisle (or the 20 year lease anyway) so if you can hold off for a month or so...
As for having it somewhere else... HOW DARE YOU POND

I didn't mean anything nasty by those comments... I'm sorry to offend.
Pond - that's a fabulous idea except for one thing...I'd like to vote for a place that's got parking nearby. Free. Remember, poor uni student.

Shrillian - you couldn't be nasty if you tried - I'm sure that no one was offended - I know I didn't take your remarks seriously.

I wasn't offended, not at all, happy that you remembered me in fact.
I'd be happy with somewhere in the city or any where.
Feisor, all is well and I hope with you as well
See you soon P2

so...I disappear for two weeks and so does everyone else? I'm not going to be very regular for a while (but when was I?) as I'm in the midst of some annoying home related things...so I'll try and check here as often as possible, but please all try and decide a date so that I can relieve myself of any issues with copious amounts of alcohol!

I might as well put it on record that there's absolutely no chance of me being in Sydney before May, and maybe not until August. This would seem to rule out my attendance at anything in the next few months... I'll stay subscribed though, so I know when to be jealous.
Ivan.

Ivan, as we Sydneysiders pretty much follow the motto of "AEFAP", let us know when you'll be here, and we'll have a meet in your honor anyway!!!
