HELLO,
I suffered a STROKE on 8th. dec. 2002. After first heart attack apperead the STROKE symptoms (three days later heart attack I could not either talk, or walk!). After this first heart attack I got three serious Panic Attacks!!!
Than comes the wisper, on the next, than comes first steps and on the third day (11th. Dec. 2002), came first time the sound of the voice!
The disperately situation of me is that I cannot reacall anymore nor my mother tongue language (hungarian), nor the other languiage used frequently: romanian. The only language left for communication is: English (the only one used since 6th. dec. 2002).
My psychaitrist doctor diagnosis is: Conversion Disorder and Dissociative amnesia.
I am living now in Romania (where the techonology cannot help my doctor to find out what happen into my brain). I take pils and I do follow the minimum psychothepapy which we can have in this stage: not knowing what happen inside my brain and how to avoid a second shock which can paralyse me!
All my friends are back off since they found out what happen with me!
The actual level is:
- no friends
- no family
- no communication posibility (!!!!!!!)
- no one seems to care about this!!!!
I got medical visa for getting in UK (where I used to believe that I have FRIENDS - I JUST REALISED THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY!), since 30th. dec. 2002 and I am still stuck here!
Even my doctor does not know what to do any more! What to try next? What medication/ therapy (we already changed Doxepin with Sulpirid!) for keeping me away of stres as much as it is posible!!!
THERE IS ANY CHANCE FOR ME IN THIS WORLD???
DOESN'T EXIST ANYBODY IN THIS WORLD WHOM MIGHT BE CONCERN???
In my country is more than hard to get a visa (especially a medical visa one!), yet I have one until 30th. June 2003!!!
What can I do with this visa???
Wait for another VICTIM from/in UK???
PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know researcher interested in Stroke, in Alzhaimer disease, Parkinson disease, even AIDS!!! Billion of dollars alocated to these diseases!!!
IF ANYBODY IBN THIS WORLD READ/HEAR MY MESSAGE MY E-MAIL IS:
[email protected]
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, you dear reader!
LOVE,
M

Hope you can hang in there for now. I am sure there are others in the UK (elsewhere too)you can discuss this with here on the site. You communicated pretty well. Choose a nickname ..then on your page click edit and write hi. (does not have to be alot and you can always add or change it later) That will open your page to others. Good Luck to you.

Hello Researcher 215655, you may find the following link helpful, http://www.stroke.org.uk/ . There will always be someone on site to talk to as well. As Abbi has said, if you go to your space, click on edit page and type hello or something, then one of us can welcome you properly to this site.

Welcome Researcher 215655! Hopefully you'll have your name changed and your personal space activated soon so we can all chat there. You might also wish to copy your post to <./>askh2g2</.> where you could receive more responses. If you don't know how then let me know and I'll be glad to do it for you. It's just if you do it the thread of conversation will immediately be active off your personal space so you can monitor when people respond.
Long ago I used to volunteer for an organization called RAIN. Regional AIDS Interfaith Network. We would spend time with people in the final stages of AIDS. Just generally help out and be friends.
The sad fact is that many people who are friends and family aren't equipped to handle when someone they love is ill. They are afraid they'll do or say the wrong thing and in a very real way seeing someone else ill reminds them of their own mortality. Because of this so many friends simply stay away, not realizing how much pain this causes. If this weren't the case there would be no need for organizations like RAIN.
I hope you find the information you need here on h2g2. More than that though I hope you stay around and get to know some friends here so you feel less lonely. For as large as this community is it's quite friendly and I believe you'll find many of us are genuinely concerned and are more than happy to chat with you and help where we can.
I look forward to getting to know you. Though I'm in the US and don't have an answer for you I would be delighted to chat with you. Thank goodness Granny already had a link for you.

Hello Researcher 215655
Have you thought about trying an alternative therapy to help you recover your health? There are many available in the UK currently and maybe not all of them can be of help to you right now. You could try Homoeopathy, Herbal Medicine or Acupuncture. At the university I am studying at we have an alternative therapy clinic which is open to the public. They have a website, its url is:
http://www.wmin.ac.uk/cccph/polyclin.htm
there you can find information about all the therapies available and this may help in deciding which one's best help you. And if you look under Life/Health & Healing on h2g2 you may find some more answers.
All the Best
Mark
