Okay, first h2g2 QI question for a long time, but hopefully along the right lines.....
What do the following have in common:
Professor Niels Bohr - Nobel Prize winning physicist (1922)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Novelist, and creator of 'Sherlock Holmes'
Ernesto "Che" Guevara - Marxist revoluationary
No googling, wikiing, hootooing, punching, scratching, diving, heavy petting, or ball games on the grass.
Extra points available (or something) for anyone who can name another person who shares the same connection without giving away what it is.

I have an idea, but it seems too simple and I wouldn't want to end this QI prematurely if it was right.
I'm thinking my dad might share the same connection. (now, that shouldn't give too much away, huh?!)
What I'm thinking is something we have a smiley for on HooToo.

I think I know too. And my nominee for the person with the same connection would be the author Vladimir Nabokov.

*googles "Stunning Frenchie's dad"*
*finds nothing*
Hmmmm.....
I didn't think it was that obvious, but perhaps I underestimate the sheer polymath power of the QI page....
I've had a look at the smiley list, and there is one that is related to the connection, but not one that is the connection. If you're thinking *medical* , then that's true of two out of three, but not what I was thinking of.
But equally, that connection hadn't occurred to me, so there are surely points there....

Russian-American novelist Vladimir Nabokov does indeed share the connection.

I won't spoil it just yet, then. But I might post another one if no-one gets it soon.

Albert Camus, French-Algerian philosopher and writer, does indeed share the connection. Memorably, Camus wrote that "all that I know most surely about morality and obligation, I owe to football".
The other name I thought might be mentioned here is Pope John Paul II.
"semi professional football players"
It's good, but it's not quite right. Not just footballers, but goalkeepers.
Niels Bohr played for Akademisk Boldklub (AB), as did his brother and fellow Physicist Harald, who was a Danish international, winning a silver medal at the 1908 Olympics.
Arthur Conan Doyle played for Portsmouth Association Football Club (no relation to the current Portsmouth professional club), and was also a useful cricketer.
Ernesto "Che" Guevara had serious asthma, which probably had a lot to do with him playing in goal.
Adversity was also responsible for Albert Camus taking to goalkeeping - it caused less wear on his shoes. Camus played for Racing Universitaire Algerios, but was not (as is sometimes claimed) an Algerian international, and TB cut his career short.

I think you'll find it's more likely that keepers tend to wear Number One...

Don't think so - the title was a reference to the traditional number on a keeper's shirt.....
