the statue of oliver cromwell in aylesbury is remeniceent of a statue of alfred the great, were they both erected in 1860??

alfred was named king of the english despite never being king of england, he was king of wessex
oliver was lord protector and was offered the crown but turned it down
were both rulers of the english without being kings of england

I think the most likely candidate for a sculptor in common would be Sir William Thornycroft.
There is a statue of Cromwell by him - I think at Westminster Palace.
And, of course the Alfred The Great at Winchester - is that his too?
