Obviously you can't include everyone in your obituaries, it's depressingly long enough as it stands, but I wondered about the omission of Peggy Lee. (I gather we are of similar vintage.)
The other evening, Jools Holland's BBC TV show included one of your neighbours from just along the coast. Norah Jones, brought up in Texas. Her brief appearance did much to cheer me up. Not that she is the second Peggy Lee, but there is something ... and she plays piano.
If you have a mind to, you might like to check:

and select "Cold, cold heart."
Not that yours will be, now that the Marmite has arrived.

cool site plaquesville!!!
just ordered the cd...thanks for the tip...
not heard of Norah jones till now, but that's my kind of music.
Peggy Lee was not someone who influenced me a lot, although i was
aware of her career as i was growing up / getting old etc.
sorry about the list of obituaries, not something i obsess about,
but when some icon passes, i feel the need to put something down.
it started as an intro to the home page, as i only joined h2g2 when
i heard that DNA left. Since then the only things that have moved me
to journalise have been the deaths of personal heroes.
thanks again

Thanks for the reply.
After I'd posted, I had second thoughts about interfering.
My joining h2g2 arose from an inadvertent blundering into Babelfish and coincided with the death of Peter Jones (the voice of the book). Coincidence can be worrying, if you let it.
From a parallel universe (n2g2.com) I was introduced to this - concerning another shared hero:

No revelations, but interesting marginal notes.
