Yes, I am obsessed... Well, you would be too, if you lived in a place that was supposed to be a tropical paradise, kept hearing about global warming and were freezing yr tail off!
Well, Jimmy has a middle ear infection, but is off school because there's a teachers' strike. Good for him, I say!
Four powers are meeting in Germany to settle the post-war future of Afghanistan. What gives them the right? I am reminded of Pete Townsend, and the song 'Won't be fooled again'(?)
"Meet the new boss/Same as the old boss".
My story about the woman in combat is millimetering along. I've killed off half her squad, and a boy who's a bit of 'collateral damage', then I have had Nerys and her surviving colleague taken prisoner by a man who, unbeknownst to them, is the very warlord they seek! What should happen to Nerys and Leung next?
Ah, time for a and some sunshine.

Dear Della
Does it rain a lot in NZ? I thought it only rained over here in the home country. Is that why there are so many of your country-persons over here working in our pubs and bars? My nephew has just married one of your tribe, shes hails from Dunedin. They are presently touring europe in an old VW sleeper for about 3 months, so I won`t see them again `til the new year.
If you like reading/writing sci-fi and want to write a war story, have you read `The Forever War` by Joe Haldeman? He`s a Vietnam Vet. and has degrees in physics & astronomy so he is writing with some knowledge of the subject, and he writes very well imho. Sorry you didn`t like my `Joke`, but I did warn you it was just for the boys.

Yes, sadly, Born (may I call you that?) it rains a lot in NZ, especially Auckland where we are. It's drizzling today, the official 1st day of summer - yeah, right!
I read 'Forever War' back in 1981, in parallel with 'Starship Troopers', what a cognitively dissonant experience! I think I should pick it up again.. I am obviously deeply interested in war right now!
