genuine bonafide South African, over in chilly Edinburgh currently, but born in Durban, studied in Stbosch,and living intermittently in Jo'burg when in the Dark Continent now
but in the UK for at least another year studying
why didn't i see any other countries' support group for researchers? are we the only ones who need it? oh the woes of the postcolonial society!

Welcome and very pleased you found us.
Do we call you guardian or hedge for short? 
There are a few groups. The Aussies and Kiwis have a combined one. There is a Dutch one and I believe I saw a Scandanavian one recently.
Everyone who isn't British is trying to have get togethers in their countries 'cause we are all envious of the meets the British have.
Will you be returning to S.A. after your studies are complete?

well,i'm an itinerant hedgepig,really,and have no idea when my studies will be complete -eternal studentitis i fear !
but yes,planning to return,seeing as my Man (
)is in Jo'burg
so i guess i can meet up w the brits here,and then go meet up w julle too - best of both worlds!
you could call me god for short i guess
but hedge would be fine *sigh* so much for glory and fame

Hi hedge.
Lucky you...being able to go to a Brit meet.
We will have to arrange an SA meet when you are definitely going to be here. Two of our Jhb/Midrand researchers haven't been active for a couple of months. That leaves 5 of us from Jhb and possibly our friend from Pietersburg could join us, tho he is not as active as he used to be.
Wonder if Snoeker could catch a ride up from CT.

I am a DTP Operator, working for Nu Metro. Eternity works for an Insurance company and agent002 is still in school. The others will have to tell you what they do, or have a look at their pages for more info on them.
I can vouch for Eternity and agent002 being nice people (they are my daughter and son)
We have not met any other researchers but I am sure they are all
