At first reading, looks good. May I suggest a link to the article on Mary Whitehouse? http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A668397

An interesting read!
One sentence in the 'Definitions of Prurience' section rather puzzled me: 'Interestingly, Freudian psychoanalysts regard itching as the expression of sexual desires and interpret boring and itching as masturbatory equivalents'.
What sort of 'boring' do you mean - assuming that the answer is fit for a family site?

One point: it is not fundamentalists who promote political correctness, but liberals. Fundamentalists are extremely un-PC (especially in relation to homosexuality).
I enjoyed reading it - away to the front page with it!

Thanks for your feedback everyone . Sorry not to post sooner but been having problems with getting logged out of our site these last few days. I've made the suggested amendments including the useful reference to Mary Whitehouse. Think it fits in quite well. And, of course, it should be liberalists and not fundamentalists in relation to PC (though the 2 extremes meet at some point). "Boring" was in reference to little insects (e.g. wood beetles/worm) that bore into furniture, house timbers, etc. and not the human endeavour. Of course, dyed-in-the-wool Freudians would no doubt reduce these bugs-that-get-under-your-skin as having sexual connotations.
