hi,

where does one start when it comes to disaster at this magnatude?

id like to request prayer for those still alive in the rubble of the world trade center and pentagon. please please god keep them until they are able to be rescued.

for the thousands of families torn by loss, of those on the flights themselves, in the buildings, and in lower manhattan.

Since we heard of the tragedy I have been praying for the injured and for the family and friends of those innocent people who have lost their lives.

I pray also that our Lord will guide the leaders that they may find the responsible persons and punish only them. May no further innocent lives be lost.

For all our friends here on h2g2 who may have family or friends in New York and/or Washington, may God bless you and keep you and those you hold dear.

I would just like to add my sincere condolances to all those affected by this tragic 'event'.

I would also like to pray that the Lord will forgive those who committed this horrific act and allow them to see what they have done and realise that it is so wrong.

I want to add a prayer for the rescue workers. May the Lord give them strength to continue their very difficult, heart-breaking work. Keep them safe, Lord.

I read, with horror, in the newspaper today an account of an American who has asked Afghanistan to swop himself for his daughter. The daughter is in prison in Afghanistan charged with promoting Christianity, for which the penalty could be death.

Lord grant strength to all your people all over the world who are spreading your Word and especially those who risk their lives to do it.

yes, as far as i understand, the 8 aid workers who were arrested and imprisoned for "promoting christianity" are still in afghanistan.

I understand that the eight aid workers are still alive, and the trial has been indefinitely postponed (I imagine it's fairly difficult to continue with day to day life at the moment in Kabul smiley - sadface )
Hopefully they won't be harmed in the upcoming conflicts. But then, why are we so concerned about those particular eight people when there are hundreds of innocents being killed all around them, by both sides in the conflict?

I'm not trying to make things about me. smiley - laugh

I am glad that things seem to be going really well for our military though. Let's hope it continues to be that way. smiley - smiley
