Thank you very much for the comments! Right; here are the changes:
>threw in a link to the entry, 'Troubleshooting the Hard-Boiled Egg', which lists all the problems that could happen, grey yolk etc, concerning the HB state most extensively
>I decided to footnote the computer science aspect of the big/little endian question and leave it up to you if you would like to write an entry on it (I think that would be most interesting IMHO)
Anything else, please let me know, and I'll try to address them asap!
Under the hot tap eh? That one's a new one . I have heard of a person who had never cooked in their life, and upon reaching University age, was asked to boil an egg. Having never done this, the person took the most logical approach and filled up the kettle, popped the egg in, and switched it on. Quite I thought
Stay ,

Does anyone feel like trying to come up a formula to produce perfect soft-boiled eggs? As far as I can see all it would have to do is vary time t in relation to volume of egg v and air pressure p. There's a Nobel prize in there somewhere...

Hey, that was supposed to be a (weak?) pun on the notation 'eggheads' for engineers and physicithy...ians!

Well, anyway.
Serious now, this is a beautiful extension to the Edited Guide, and it's only a matter of time until it's going to be recommended. I'm not going to name all the entries in that state, but it's a rather long list. Just hang on, and get hard-boiled, will you?

As Barton says, congratualtions. The next stages (SubEd, TPTB) may take a wee while, but it will make it to the Front Page Any questions about it, give me a yell Until later....

Just a wee more bit on high-altitude egg-boiling. An electric kettle is a very useful and effective high-altitude cooking appliance. Fill and bring the electric kettle to a boil. Add freshly-boiled electric kettle-water to the rapidly evaporating boiling water in the egg pot. Repeat as needed to ensure both egg coverage and temperature maintenance. Voila! Hard boiled eggs in thin air!
Cheers
Congratulations!

I like them with Salt and pepper, or hot sauce of some kind. My dad liked them with mayonaise.
