Take your time reviewing my colleague Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840 as well as examining the various features in the process. Among other things you'll find; the Regional Researchers' Groups at A660313, the Researchers' Map at A5076614, the numerous questions(and answers)in <./>askh2g2</.>, the assortment of <./>smileys</.>, our newspaper <./>thepost</.> and the Personal Space Workshop at A1123354. Feisor doesn't mention the Workshop but you might find it useful as a supplement to Spicing Up Your User Page(which he refers you to).
