A Conversation for The Film that Moved You Most and Why

Saving Private Ryan

I saw this film on my birthday, in the summer of 98. I was with a good frined of mine, in a very large theater, which was full. The average age in the theater was about 70 years old, and I could see many veterans there with their wives and families. My friend and I were still crying when we left the theater, and we didn't speak for about a half an hour afterwards. This film is a very powerful one indeed.

I'm not sure if you'd agree with me, possablya s a brit I'm always a littel jaded. I liked thsi film, and I didn't think I would. two usual brit criticisms. First, managed to avoid meeting any brittish or canadian troops there didn't they. second, the end, with ryan and teh flag, too cheesy. I felt that the pan away from teh bridge woudl have been a far more powerful ending.
