A Conversation for The Film that Moved You Most and Why

The Crow

I cant believe I can see no mention of The Crow here. A bit gothic i know, but that film did, has done, and still does, move me more than anything else. The position of Eric Draven, returned to seek revenge on those who raped his fiancee and then killed them both, struggling to make sense of what has happened, and trying to save those who still have a chance,(Darla and Shelley). The story was made all the more striking in that Brandon Lee, son of one of my heroes ( and one himself) lost his life tragically in the making of the film. I lived in his world for months years ago. I used to watch that film almost every day, and i could still probably anticipate every line and even every continuity error... I know its sad, but for the darker romantics among us, The Crow will always be the film that makes my heart boil with emotion.

This film remains with me, my sole tattoo is of a crow perched upon a stone cross, like near the start when Shelley goes to the Graveyard.

Come on, there must be some Crow fans...

The further Crow films did not do the original tale justice, and the TV series, well the less said about American TV spin-offs, where they forget everything that happened in the film so they can make more money, the better.

Well, here's ONE other Crow fan at least! Also saddened it was omitted from the list. Personally, I often ponder if it would have had the same impact on me without the music. First few secs. of Burn + the hairs on the back of my neck start pinging up! By the end of the film I've got goosebumps on my goosebumps!

True, the music does integrate with the film so well...

i think the film deals with a darker side that lays dormant in the majority of us.the dire need for revenge when an atrocity occurs that rips at the seams of your soul.

a kick ass soundtrack and very emotional, humorous and suprisingly real performance in an unreal world provide me with one of the best films i have seen. Agreeably, neither sequel (city of angels or salvation) match the first but still entertain greatly.

Personally I liked all of them, but then, I didn't try to match them up or compare them with each other. I just took them as individual projects (and not in order, I might add).
