When Ford returns to Arthur on prehistoric earth .. he tells him about all the time he spent thinking he was a lemon and jumping in and out of a gin and tonic .... this is my favorite scene.
The reason being is the end of the scene Ford makes probably his most poingnant statement which is ....
"Why go mad trying to prevent yourself going mad. Why not give in and save your sanity for later."
This very discordian statement is I believe one of the many truisms in the Guide, and since he says it I guess it makes Ford my favorite character .. since otherwise I'd be hard-pressed to choose.
Well that's my two cents,
