I am also a Brit traped in the body of a Canadian! I have never been to Briton, or out of North America for that matter. I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, but I speak with a British accent, and I love everything that has to do with Briton. My particular soft spot is for British writing and I do love music like Chumbawumba and Elton John. In fact, I have named all the land that I can see from my bedroom window "Little England". I sympathize with your plight and I understand where you're coming from.

Britain, isn't it? I thought it was Britain not Briton.

Yeah, I'm living in Alberta, and I've traveled to most of the inland provinces (I've driven through Manitoba, but that doesn't really count as traveling TO Manitoba. At least I like to be proud of never having been to Manitoba. For God's sake, it's not really eastern enough to be as cool as Ontario, and despite the fact that it's more bumpy than Saskatchewan, I'd trade the whole province of Manitoba for Sakatoon). Never got around to visiting the Maritimes, though - My Mom and sister visited PEI and said it was nice. Maybe I'll head heat your way some time, but only as long as I can FLY over Quebec.

That rant aside, I've also visited a few states, and in grade 11 I went on Travel Club for a two-week blitz of London, Paris, Florence, Venice, and Rome. I've got the travel bug now, and I have to get off this continent.

Next June I'm headed to the UK on the SWAP program ([ur removed by moderator]) for a year, or two if by then I'm REALLY sick of my family. My intro is actually a modified excerpt of my letter of motivation for SWAP.

Hey, get back to me. Drop me a line. In the meantime, I'll check out your H2G2 home space.

First off, I'm a horrible speller so you're probably right about that Britian/Briton thing.

So you've never been to N.S.? Pity, because it realy is quite nice here. Myself, I've traveled all over N.S. and Newfoundland and I've breifly visited the rest of Canada. I've also been to Florida, wich is nice but slow, and New York, wich smells bad.
I would highly recommend that you visit Newfoundland some time. The people are friendly, the goegraphy is brilliant and the parties are just great. I love it there. It's great to paddle a kyayk around the shoreline and go inside the caves as well as paddle right up alongside an ice cake. I always get free refreshments when I'm in St. Johns because my brother-in-law owns a street vending company. I'm going up to Newfoundland myself in about a week or so.

All the best!smiley - cool

That's supernifty! Yeah, I'll have to do some cross-canada travel sometime. I might even venture north, if only briefly. maybe a road trip.

But first, I gott save a couple grand so I can b****r off to the UK for a while. That's something I'm really looking forward to. If we keep in contact, maybe I'll send you a couple letters. But that's a ways off - June 2002.

I would have droped by sooner but I was on the road and my truck doesn't have internet access

That'd be cool, I'd like to keep in contact.

By the way, I've now technically been to France. It's not England, but it's kinda close. I went to St-Peirre Miquelon, just off the coast of Newfoundland. It's a nice place, though it's a bit of a labyrinth.

wow. How many colonies does France have compared to Britain? It seems to me that the UK has been freeing all their colonies while France silently holds on to theirs...

I don't really know much on the subject. I only heard about the islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon a few days before I went there.
