I would like to join.

I know nothing at all about astronomy, but I think it might be interesting. (Northern Hemisphere).

Thanks,

Your very welcome to join in, it'll be great to have you with us. May I ask how you found us (just for interest)?

Great, I'll add you in as a member in the table with your splurg and then if you post your email address then I can get you signed up to the Yahoo group. However it'll be easier for you to go to the link from and of the AS pages, it;s the 'Discussion Group' link. That's an open email chat group for all to generally discuss, ask questions (Astronomo will probably be able to answer all of your questions) and let other know about things.

We've only just started the Messier Marathon which you might be interested in as well as a project to map the sky (well in h2g2 form), so lots for you to do.

If you need help at any time give me an email, address at bottom of AS pages.

Welcome again, smiley - biggrin

Hi T.A.R.

No you don't need a Yahoo! e-mail address.

I created a specific astro e-mail with another provider (talk21.com as it happens) and entered that into the Yahoo! Groups sign-up.

Through total luck, I saw (and bought) The Mitchell Beazley Concise Atlas of the Universe by Patrick Moore today. OK, so it's from 1974, but it was only 10p! Should be useful...

Anything by Patrick Moore is a good start!

Try and get your hands on David Levy's Skywatching, a great intro to the heavens.
