Not exactly topical, but sort of.
Any insights?

I think this is a great topic, but could definitely use some more development. Some examples of some of the more classic easter eggs would be great. As would some mention of how easter eggs have moved to other mediums -- video games, websites, etc. And maybe some more info on how users find easter eggs?

I agree, it needs more. Easter eggs in video games in particular have evolved... rather than simple credits, some Easter eggs activate special advantages or alterations to the game play itself.

I concur with the previous two posters.. this really is a great topic with potential... but it needs to be fleshed out. History, most famous examples, corporate response?
cheers-

My favorite easter egg is the flight simulator in a certain spreadsheet program.

In time, it'll be passed to a sub-ed, who will review your work and check the facts. Eventually this entry will be included in the edited guide! The sub-ed will e-mail you when they have time. To find out what's going to happed to your entry, check out the help page on the Sub-Ed process (the URL is escaping me and the servers are monstrously slow because of Douglas Adams's untimely death).
