2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Went to hospital this morning... for the delayed testosterone mid-point/high-point test... diorrhea was too bad to go to it last Friday... smiley - erm sadly the diorrhea hasn't finished yet, so must try get through the person-stopper barriers and book a GP app for that some time next week smiley - groansmiley - vampire
Finally gave in and bought a new mobile, well, ordered it, should arrive in a few days...

Was looking at the moto G6.... then they brought out the moto one... and the cleaner OS made more sense tome, and with potential longevity benefits too...

Then black Friday.... stuff... the G6 dropped in price... but... I still wanted the moto One... - the price dropped this morning smiley - zensmiley - run

Speaking of testosterone tests, yesterday was my semiannual endocrinology appointment, so Monday I went to have blood draws. When I see the hematologist only has two vials to fill, I ask if he's drawing for testosterone. Nope! This is the first appointment after switching to injections, so I'm sure he'll want to see my new levels. So the hematologist tries, but fails, to get in touch with my doctor. He assures me though that they've got enough blood once the lab order comes in.

So, when I see my doctor on Friday, guess what test wasn't done? smiley - facepalm

Their excuse was the order didn't come in until a couple of hours later. I don't see why that would prevent them from letting me know so I could come in later that day, like I asked the hematologist to do.

Still, much less aggravating that what you constantly seem to cope with.

I can't compete with 2legs' ordeals either but I can tell you that it took three attempts before I finally had appointments for both a blood test and a blood pressure test.

At first my smiley - doctor and smiley - nurse accepted my proposal for an appointment, but then it was cancelled because they didn't want to do both tests the same day. Why they didn't just do one of the tests and ask me to come in a second time is beyond me.

"Plus I don't think we need to take all the blood tests you mention," says the smiley - doctor, "since they were already done only a few months ago."

"Okay, you are the smiley - doctor and I trust your opinion," says I.
Guess which tests were done after all ... smiley - facepalm

And then I had this sort of situation where you are being contradicted even if you can hear that they agree with you 100 percent:
I said: "Both my own smiley - doctor and my specialists want my blood tested. Can't we arrange this so I only have to go to one lab and have all the tests done in one go?"
smiley - nurse says: "No. We don't want to stress the NHS unnecessarily. I think we should arrange this so you only have to go to one lab and have all the tests done in one go."
Me: "Erm, alright then." smiley - rolleyessmiley - groan

smiley - applause the logic is... impossible to fathom sometimes... smiley - erm often... smiley - headhurts
I'm sure the phrase 'science based medacine' existed... yet, it doesn't quite seem to work that way... - in my own case, it seems 'random' choice of what they test each time I'm blood let; and no consistency of measuring things over time... - so a while back now I had abnormally high levels of blood calcium, hypercalcemia... and, so they got mega worried; cancer of the parathyroid gland, etc, all that stuff... so measured my calcium again... - the second time it was normal, so, that's it... - no further measurement of calcium, ever (except, of course, independently, my bone Dr sometimes measures it; but for different reasons, so is happy for me to have nice high cal levels) - similarly, if the cardio Dr ever saw my calcium results, she'd do her nut, as high calcium contributes to calcification of one's blood vessels.

yes. its that in-joined up smiley - laughsmiley - weird

Well the new phone arrived smiley - wow ahh... you do seem to get a somewhat better looking phone, if you buy one, rather than just taking the free one if your on contract... - I lok forward to playing with the finger print reader, and the clean android OS - though sadly things are interuprited ATM, due to my sim card apparently being neolythic, and too big smiley - laughsmiley - doh

shockingly, once I've got it set up, I'll have about four times the harddrive storage space on my phone, compaired to my laptop smiley - laughsmiley - geek

Most amazing night at the pub, Friday night;

had been a really good evening, and as we were leaving, we stopped outside; where the other's, already left, were still earnestly deep in conversation about giant squid, and octopus.

We stopped, and someone said something to me, vaguely along the lines, of 'how terrifying the giant squid looks'

To which I replied...

"not as terrifying as the yellow shark, or, for that matter, Ebolynn the modified dog"

To which he replied, "with or without the paper doiley..."

At which point, the entire crowd of people outside the pub, broke spontainiously into a rendition of "Montana" smiley - erm

Its that kind of pub, it doesn't really accept normal patrons smiley - cool

So, part way through the rendition, myself and one of the crowd I knhow fairly well, an actor who's dating an Australian embarmist, began singing the 'whipping post' variation of 'montana'.

Poor William... - he really doesn't get Zappa, and even less knows it; to him, we had all spontainiously gone utterly insane and all began recanting the same weird insaine thing smiley - laughsmiley - erm

I do like that pub... even if the toilets are utterly disgusting

Off out for lunch soon, to people who live just opposite us, an aged married pair of anchient queens... we've got wine smiley - redwine to take smiley - zen

Then, later this afternoon, we're going to go probably with the neighbours over the road, off to a local pub, which has a ukelally orchestra practising/playing there o a Sunday afternoon smiley - coolsmiley - musicalnote

I'm looking forward, still, for the day my life gets truly weird.

Ooo... I wonder if the guys over the road have invited the neighbourhood witch over for afternoon lunch too, she's a hoot about 100 years old, a retired nurse, and entirely mental... - she removed stitches from her own eye a few months back, when the hospital went made a mistake and didn't use dissolvable stitches smiley - huh

I'm wearing leopard print today - seemed right for both the lunch over the road, and for an afternoon uke orchestra/recital smiley - zensmiley - alesmiley - redwinesmiley - stiffdrink

Work tomorrow, at gym, two clients to train in the morning; then to the phone shop in the afternoon to try sort out a new sim card smiley - doh

I tried the same - and lo and behold, I got a similar outcome smiley - ok

So smiley - goodluck to you!

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

The phone shop couldn't have been more helpful... she sorted mea new sim, fitted it, plus the new 128 GB SD card I bought, and turned on the speech on the phone for me, and imported my contacts smiley - cool and I've been playing with the phone since... thus far installed most apps I use regularly, and altered a few settings.... changing the orrible ring tone will have to wait, until I can find where my Vira lynn MP3s are hidden, so I can have that again as my ring tone; then just to find the seagull noise for my text message alert smiley - erm

Tested out using the phone as a music player... smiley - wow - far clearer sound and better quality than my very* old IPod I bought second hand in 2015 smiley - seniorsmiley - geek - I want to research using the finger-print reader, before I use/set that up, as I'd like to use it both for the finger print locking/unlocking the phone, plus password protection, and as a navigation doobry... all of which should* be possible from what I read smiley - zen

But. gosh. having a new phone is... different... - so fast apps from the playstore install before I've had a chance to look at the progress bar for the download smiley - laugh and the screenreader/speech on it works so much better, less jumpy and just quicker smiley - zen

Now, just need to copy 500 or so CDs onto an external PC/laptop drive, and then onto the phone smiley - groan (yes I'd already done most, years back, but I assume that is all one the external HD that seems to be bust smiley - dohsmiley - groan

Knackered after gym today; and didn't even do a workout... was helping our two clients, plus another wheelchair user... - which was fun, if tiring smiley - puff

oughta be at ten pin tomorrow night, but I called off, I'm still not feeling right, and my energy is way off normal smiley - wah - plus tomorrow morning I've my session with my PT, followed by an hour being chased round by someone in a wheelchair, as she throws medicine balls at me smiley - laugh No... seriously... its fun and good exercise for her smiley - laugh plus, very amusing smiley - snorksmiley - zen

Dinner tonight was baked cauliflower with cinnamon and sesame oil, with grilled salmon and boiled/steamed wild rice smiley - zen lunch was a tin of soup, with a couple small cheese sandwichs smiley - zen breakfast was two hard boiled eggs and a bit of toast smiley - zen

Going to try book see Dr Wednesday if we can, sort out why I'm still smiley - ill from this infection that oughta have cleared ages.... ago...

Today was first day down to just 8 MG prednisolone, still double my normal dose smiley - groan

Oh, and I've found George Formby on Spotify smiley - coolsmiley - musicalnote
