2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I don't really enjoy anything anymore. because I don't feel. I don't feel anything. I take a hammer and I smash it as hard as I can into my head, or my smiley - blushsmiley - blush I can't feel it. I get an IM injection I can't feel it. I inject myself Subcut eery night.. . I don't feel it. I pick up the grill pan from direct under the grill or from in the oven. I ca't feel it. It might still cut me, burn me. I don't feel it.
Which sn't true. I feel it. but. its as if I just don't care. ntohing. oh. theres a sensations.... err. yeh. and? smiley - ermsmiley - huhsmiley - weird
pleasure is the same, but hte opposite way round, as it were. I 'feel' it, but its not registeirng.

tonight. was nice. we went out for a meal, with the local LGBT (insert extra pointless letters here) group, and had a lebonese meal, ten went to a pub.

The lesbians ruinmed it by the pub, of course, by ensurin ensuring they made us go to a table insufficiently large for the whole group; nabbing it as useual for the lesbians, so the rest of us couldn't sit in a group. me and W left fairly quickly afte that, and went somewhere more fomfortable and tolerant. I.E., a normal mental deranged pub. full of nutcases and headcases and bohemian weirdos. err. somwhere we feel at home smiley - zensmiley - ale the food was fab though, for th emeal. smiley - droolsmiley - pandasmiley - corncob
remained to the pub until about 11.30, then came home. injected myself at midnight and took some melatonin. took my prednisolone poisen and ten my supplements whilst at the meal as I remembered to pack tem smiley - zen some supper soon then bed. Hope I can sleep tonight, as its gym tomorrow, and I've not slept in 72 horus again. kinda feeling a bit tired now. smiley - shrug

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Yes smiley - zzz I did sleep all night through smiley - wow and was even still a bit tired on waking smiley - yawn I woke before W... crept down and started on to food preperation......
chopped up 1 Lb mushrooms....
finely diced/minced a bulb and a half of garlic smiley - drool
sliced a big onion, into a pile of thin strips, then diced a big onion into ickle cubes smiley - zensmiley - geek

Then once William was p, we had coffee smiley - coffeesmiley - coffee then I made breakfast; black pudding, and I sliced some more mushrooms to go with that.. so I tok my steroids just before eating....

Then, as I now had the frying pan used for the black pudding.... I fried offf the onions an d meat, then mushrooms and garlic, in the same pan, deglazing it just with some water.... threw that all into the slow cooker, with a tin of tomatos, and put dinner onto cook smiley - puff

Oh, and spices, cumin fennel and mustard seeds went in with the meat in teh frying pan, plus a ton of black pepper smiley - drool

and... now some time later, dinner is nearly ready smiley - drool and smells fabulus... just opened the slow cooker and added a drained and rinsed tin of borlotti beans (we zapped them in the microwave first, so they didn't slow down cooking too much by reducing the temp of the slow cooker....

We'll cook bulghur or rice soon to go with the dinner, which, will either be six or four portions worth... the slow cooker works out at 140 KCal a portion (if it goes to 6 portions), or.... *calculates * smiley - erm 210 KCal (I think), if we only geet four from it smiley - zen

Well, after doing all that cooking first thing, I was smiley - sleepy - so got changed and went to the gym....

Too tired to do cardio.... so did a 45 minutes weight workout..... inclined bench press, 3 X 20 reps of 20 KG. bench press, 3 X 20 reps of 20 KG. Squats, 3 X 20 reps of 20 KG, bicep curls 3 X 20 of 20 KG smiley - puff then did leg raises and leg lifts, in the climbing frame contratpion, ten did dips in the same climbing fram thing.... did leg stretching things using the window ledge as useual, plus touching my toes, and some other stretchy things I haven't a clue what they're called, some on my arms some on my legs some doing my chest and back smiley - puff
Did some more bench presses, and inclined bench presses, then more reps of squats... then used the squat bar, for doing these sort of wierd inclined 'pull up' things... - sort of works your arms plus does the lats smiley - zen

And finished wiht reps on the inclined bench press, until I couldn't really* do anymore smiley - puff

Then we walked home, via the Turkish shop, and bought more mushrooms (I think I might like mushroosm....) and bought a jar of pickled sliced jalapeno peppers smiley - drool

Wholemeal wrap for lunch, with tuna, cucumber, lettuce, coleslaw, and sliced green jalapeno peppers smiley - droolsmiley - puff

then had a nap smiley - zzzsmiley - zzz

and now got up to finish of the dinner. smiley - zen

I think I may need a very hot, long bath tonight, with magnesium bath salts, rose bath foam, and a coule of Lush things.... probably a dragon's egg bath bomb and a caregwins colouren bath melt smiley - droolsmiley - divasmiley - divasmiley - diva

off to see my nutritionalist and dietition person tomorrow.... - not sure I've lost weight... if anthing I've put it on, over my chest, back and arms smiley - biggrin - though I've lost inchs on my waist and hips, I've gained some across my chest, although a lot of that is my smiley - titsmiley - tit which grow bigger week by week (my body seems to be 'naturally' transitioning me, thanks to my hormone abnomalies) smiley - laughsmiley - divasmiley - handbagsmiley - puff

This stew thing smells gorgeous.... getting proper humgry now < smiley - blushsmiley - drool

Tomorrow, asides seeing my nutritionalist person, I must try ring papworth to see why they've not communicated with me, if I can get any sense out of them; otherwise shall make an app with GP at some point, to ask him to write to them, snail mail, and ask for some curtasy in telling me some results from the MRI, and let me know if I'll live much longer or not smiley - zensmiley - ghost

Oh, and must write to the endocrine nurse at hospital, might do that tonight, to let her know the GPs rude comments to me, and that they wont' prescribe the testosterone, but will, begrudgingly prescribe teh liquid levo, but only, possibly, for the once off this motnh... smiley - huh (I think nice hospital endo nurse did say if GP gets snotty about it, the hospital will begrudgingly prescribe it- its nearly £200 PM, for the liquid levo, as compaired just a few quid for the ordinary tablets) smiley - zensmiley - yikes

then Thrusday we're in all day to get the next delivery of growth hormone.... then Friday I'm at gym with the personal trainer... or, oh, and at the gym tuesday of course, with the other personal trainer smiley - puffsmiley - zensmiley - boing

oops... must get my two portions of fruit for the day, inside me, I think there's apples and in the fruit bowl smiley - droolsmiley - applesmiley - zen no pub tonight, no pub tomorrow, then may go out Tuesday night I think smiley - ale and Saturday coming we're out with the lesbians and gays again to a pub... smiley - alesmiley - stoutsmiley - cidersmiley - apple

Must do some more researching about on wearables, still thinking about getting a sports watch type thing; less from the point of view of th e sports use, but to monitor my HR and BP, and temp would be useful too, over time, just so long I can get it to communicate the results over to my phone or IPad or PC or something so I can access them... smiley - geek

Still hoping, wanting to get somewhere with the hospital, in the next few weeks, so I can try get a trip for W and me, to go see my Dad, an dhave a mini holiday there, by the sea just at te end of the 'season' - hoping the kids are back at school, and so it won't be overrun with children smiley - laugh (plus the hotel prices oughta have come down a bit, by September) smiley - zen not seen my Dad in ages... err... since Last year I think... smiley - weird Right... now rice or bulghur with the stew.... smiley - ermsmiley - chefsmiley - geek

I think I actually enjoyed that.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Yep; the bath last night had the magnesium salts in smiley - zen plus I take 100% of the RDA in magnesium malate or magnesium err, someting else, tablets, each day (a more absorbable form than the cheap magnesium tablets, apprently) smiley - zen plus the calcium I take each day and K2 MK7, and Vit D3, plus a multivit, and my 5000% RDA vitamine C, plus sublingual B12 and an occasional B-complex (upsets my tummy though)( smiley - blush plus zinc; taking extra sinc at the moment, to try beat down the worse of the steroid induced acne on my chest and back smiley - wahsmiley - blush steroids are horrible! smiley - laughsmiley - puff

Just phoned cardiology.... spoke to the Drs loverly receptionist... well, she sounded* helpful, and it sounds like I oughta be contacted back to try follow up what the results of my vasculature MRI were, two months ago smiley - erm oddly no appointments or follow up for me is booked on the system... so must phone them back if I don't get any come-back, from this call, to ensure that something* is being done, asides anything else I should* be having follow up scans every 6 Months, to follow the progressioin of the aneurysm, so they can opperate before* it ruptures and I die, - NhS guidelines say 6 months, so if they wont' do that I think a complaint will go in smiley - groan now, to write to endocrine nurse to tell her the GPs response and stuff smiley - puff

Breakfast today was the second half the black pudding, on toast, with wholegrain mustard, and mushrooms with it smiley - droolsmiley - blush about 395 KCal smiley - yikes

I think I actually enjoyed that.

Reminds me, I should probably be looking properly at the supplements I take (or more correctly, should, but mostly don't take). Your battery of supplements must require you to be fairly disciplined.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Well, I kinda have to be anyhow, with medication drugs.... -

Wake up come downstairs....

Pop the sublingual B12, whilst I fill my water glass....
Take coffee.... then get near breakfast, take Prednisolone.....
Take vitamine C and multivit plus 1 zinc with lunch.....

just before dinner take proton pump inhibitor.... just even more before dinner, take prednisolone....

After dinner take; vit D, vit K, calcium, magnesium plus extra zinc... smiley - cdouble

midnight inject GH and take melatonin smiley - laugh - this will all be messed up now, when I start levothyroxin again;

(from memory) ; can't take near calcium, or proton pump inhibitor, must be 2 hours from food or caffine, - so I think I'll probably just end up waking extra early, taking it, then going back to bed for an hour or so, then get up do the sublingual B12, before coffee, then the rest... smiley - erm I think that's about the safest bit of the day to take it... smiley - ermsmiley - headhurtssmiley - cdouble - I've no idea what goes for the osteoporosis medication or statin if/when they decide to bother putting me on them (still waiting) smiley - ermsmiley - shrug

I think I actually enjoyed that.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I would be very hesitant to be put on statins - lots of side effects, I gather. I only took two of the osteoporosis drug I was prescribed, and the side effects of that weren't at all nice. I'm much happier with treating it with natural supplements and exercise.

Statins right before bedtime because they w*rk better during the night smiley - geek

I've been taking them for yonks without noticing any side effects whatsoever.

Not sure how good they are, though. Read somewhere that they only prolong your life - or rather postpone your death - by a very short time, statistically speaking.

Baron Grim

There is a LOT of questionable health information online. The URL for that website raises alarms for me. Anytime I see the word "truth" included in a website name, it suggests to me that the Truth may be in short supply, or at least selective.

So I looked at their "about" page.

http://www.thecholesteroltruth.com/about-the-cholesterol-truth/

Yep, lots of conspiratorial verbiage about what doctors don't want you to know.

Oh, and the website sells their own alternative products.

Then again, maybe I'm part an unwitting part of the conspiracy.

BG, I've heard a lot about statins from all sorts of different sources concerning side-effects. This one: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/statin-side-effects/ART-20046013 – talks about the benefits too, but warns you should talk with your doctor about how it will interact with other drugs you are taking. I don't know that I've ever encountered a doctor who knows about drug combination effects! smiley - laughsmiley - wah

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Never talk to a Dr about medication; only consult an expert.... My pharmacist is brillient smiley - zen

Problem with the osteoporosis, is that I'm taking a medication each day which is disolving my bones. the supplements and strength/weight bearing exercises etc., can only do a little bit on the backdrop of not actually having many remaining alive cells in my body that make bone, due to their being killed by the steroids... smiley - doh plus the steroids and other meds I'm on, mess up calcium absorption; but, too high calcium in blood is also not a good idea; I have high calcium in my blood; that is basically because its being released from my bones; adding in mor e calcium isn't necessarily helping, as it can't then be taken up and used by the bones; true I take D3 and K2, which help increase uptake of blood calcium by bones; but again, the cells that would be taking p the calcium, ar eth the ones being killed by the steroids I have to take each day; simularly the cells that break down bone, are being activated by the steorids, to increase bone breakdown, thereby increasing calcium in blood... smiley - cdouble

Simularly, with statins; any studies that look at the overall health benifit, are doing so, basically in otherwise healthy individuals; I have a complete failure of metabolism; the GH affects lipid metabolism, the steroids efect lipid metabolism, and the no thyroid affects lipid metabolism, in the same way as for carbohydrates, the bodies ability to metabolise, and utalise lipids and carbohydrates and sugars, is reduced, hence why I'm prone to muscle wastage as the body turns to digesting protein from muscle, before utalising fats and carbs etc, flating about in the blood... I think the hormones also affect some other metabolic stuff, to do with lipids, but I can't quit e recall what smiley - headhurts - some of it comes down to other hormones I@m missing which are not replaced...

Oh, and testosterone affects lipid metablism too, and thyroid and testosterone and GH also affect bone metablism... smiley - headhurtssmiley - wah
But most of my Drs seem unaware of that, or unwilling to accept adn admit that the hormone replacements are entirely unatural and do not actually replace all the missing aspects that I have....

For example;

the quoted normal thing is;

brain releases CH, CH causes pitutiary to release ACTH, ACTH causes adrenals to release cortisol.

reality. is not that at all;

CH from brain has other affects, in the brain, in addition to its affect on the pitutiary.

ACTH; is actually just one bit of a large protein; that protein is split into three bits; one bit is ACTH, another is (I think) MSH; melanocyte stimulating hormone; affects skin pigmentation. another bit of the protein forms a hormone that stimulates the production of endorphins in the pituitarty, and aother aspect of the protein forms something that is involved with the secretion of a substance simular to ketamine. - the ketamine like substance, and the endorphines control/affect several tings in the body, particular the bodies response to pain....

Simularly; the ACTH, stimulates the adrenals to release at least 5 differnt hrmones, and cortisol is but one. - DHEA (dehydroepiandosterone) which is then cleved into pieces by enzymes, giving rise to oestogen, testosteorne, and some other hormones, potentially. - DHEA is not replaced, but is the most abundant hormone produced by the adrenal glands.

I can't quite recall what other hormones the ACTH regulates from the adrenals. - I seem to recall, also that ACTH has a role directly in the brain in release of other neurotransmitors, including seratonin. - reduced levels of seratonin are associated with dementure. - Steroids are associated with dementure; I assume by negative feedback; I.E., the steroids I take will reduce ACTH production (assuming I have any ability left in my pituitary to make it anyhow). smiley - zensmiley - cdouble yes its kinda complicated, but, if I can more or less get my head round it, I fail to see why Drs can't smiley - grr - then of course there are the other cross-hormone intereactions; cortisole (hence prednisolone and hydrocortisone), influence the way insulin works in the body, for one, which is the main reason steroids increase the risk of diabetes smiley - headhurts

Two letters from hospital today.

One from endocrinology, with my GH and some other blood results, CC-ed to me and my GP. (thyroid still way below range, GH nice and near the top of normal, which is good, HBA-1C now at 39 which is good, fasting glucose 3.9 which I think* is good) smiley - zen

Second letter was from oncology, 'write0up ' of the recent clinic app at hospital I had.... - basically saying I'm now 2 years since treatment, still in complete metabolic remission, and that now I'm moving to one year checkups ... and... interesting..... the consultant said, something pretty much like... "given the response to treatment, and the sustained remission, we can assume at this point, 2legs is efectively cured of the Hodgkin's...." which is nice smiley - wowsmiley - cool

Phoned cardiology again today... 'we'll look into it and get back to you'.... - as in still nothing from the cardiologist.... smiley - grrsmiley - headhurts

Still no levothyroxin prescribed by GP smiley - grrsmiley - headhurtssmiley - cdouble
