2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

William's belongings that is. smiley - puff I went to his today, to help with moving the final things... his computer, straight forward, some 'bits' he sorted out like pictures etc, and then my main purpose for turning up; disconnecting the HiFi. smiley - cdouble Oh. smiley - bleep Its all custom hand built and entirely unusable smiley - wah so we had to just forget the valve amps, I doubt we'd ever manage to figur eout what each 'bit' was, far less how each 'bit' actually roked, and what socket was what and which dial button was what smiley - wah

But, we got the 1940's origional working radiogram out (I've spent hours polishign it up!), and we got the 1950s turntable (a virticle one) out, they're both in the front room now, but not yet hooked up/running smiley - zen

We also got the big speakers.

I mean. BIG speakers.

massive.

Huge.

I've never had to shift any speakers this big, not even PA speakers, or bass amp with speakers in etc.

I think they've got 24" cones as the drive unit.

they've got (what I hope is) some kind of passive controls on the front, and some very odd connectors at the back, to hook the speaker s cable too (I think they're sort of XLR, but not sure; they're not like the normal 'sockets' for XLR mic cables, so... I'm gona have to improvise and experiemtn with them tomorrow I think smiley - evilgrin ).

Me and the guy who drove the van moved them. from W's, into the van. from teh van across the road outside my house, and up two flights of stairs smiley - puff - almost sold them on the street, a passing 'kid' started drooling over them smiley - laugh

They're currently in the front room, to either side of the HiFi, with my 'big' speakers still in situ. if it goes to plan, i want to leave both big sets there, on teh A/B speaker outs on the Arcam... I so want to get them going properly (they had no room to 'breeth' in William's, so haven't had a decent airing for a long while I guess smiley - evilgrinsmiley - musicalnote ) smiley - zen

We also have the 1930s globe (so m uch pink on it!) and a few other assorted things now in the front room, smiley - puff - I crashed out at about 6 this evenign and didn't wake until gone 9 smiley - laughsmiley - sleepysmiley - puff

So. that is all done. just the kitchen and utility room here to repalce. a new bathroom to fit after the old ones' been removed. all teh flooring in the house to replace, all the internal dors to remove/replace, all the walls and ceilings to pain, all the skirting to remove and replace, the front door to be replaced, the ahllways ans stairs to be retiled, and book shelfes to go up at some point too, oh, and the utility room ceiling to rip down and replace. and... yeh, all done see. smiley - laugh - gona do it all befor ethe wedding at the end of may. yeh. right. smiley - laugh - talkign of which, I've not even got a dress to wear for the wedding yet! smiley - yikessmiley - divasmiley - handbagsmiley - run

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

well I got some sound out of one of the massive speakers, but dont' have the right connectors to hook em properly up, yet smiley - magic nutrik or XLR minus the sleeve I thinks but not entirely sure; the bottom two smaller holes are a common polarity, and the single, larger top hole is a common polarity opposit of whatever the bottom holes are, smiley - weird teh controls on the front, do wsomething specific to the trebble smiley - weird I think they're based on a 1940s tannoy design, handbuilt to the origional plan, using mostly origional parts smiley - weird with hand built cabinates.... they'r eso heavy though smiley - laughsmiley - puff

Not gona try powering p the valve radiogram until the council collect the rubbish in the hall next week; so I can get to the fuse box if it trips out smiley - laughsmiley - geek

went into town today, to post back a return item to EBay seller, and sort out the council tax confusion at the council building smiley - headhurtssmiley - weird off to hospital tomorrow to see endocrinology professor, who might know what the random brain CT scan is I got a letter about today smiley - huhsmiley - cdouble no idea what that is for, or which department it is for, as it doesn't say smiley - shrug must see if I can sort out thyroxin with endo tomorrow, plus hydrocortisone dosage, and see where things are at with my testosterone etc smiley - grovelsmiley - diva Currenly about to start making dinner, and have a few possible ,erm> smiley - erm visitors over the weekend smiley - handcuffssmiley - whistle well... now we've got the place to ourselves as it were smiley - whistle off out Sunday evenign I think with a friend, and then yoga on Monday smiley - zen electriction to book some time next week, gas engineer and paintiner and decorator both turning up Tuesday some time, and... other stuff too smiley - laugh gona look at kitchens and bathrooms tomorrow afternoon on way back from hospital smiley - zensmiley - puff but... first dinner... then shower... then... probably pub smiley - alesmiley - run

What's the council tax confusion?

Also W needs to go on the electoral register at your address, won't happen automatically as a result of talking to Council tax section.

God I'm such a nag. Sorry. Sleep well. Moving is exhausting.

He's already on the electral register for here smiley - zen council tax confusion; Lodger always paid the council tax here. he's not yet canceled his Direct debit, William is moving here, and we want council tax to be to me as the home owner now. forms don't accept status of someone moving into a house who isn't a new tenant (paying), which seemed odd, was entirely impossible to do onine online or on phone, as we have no customer number, or whatever it is number smiley - zen the poor girl in the council office didn't have a clue. She may, have been slightly confused by having a blind transvestite with a moustache confronthing he with this smiley - laugh and it took a while to get her to grapple the concept that W and I am to be married soon... smiley - laugh I think we got it sorted... perhaps; plus of course, the current year coming council tax letters are probably already in the system if not already in the post, so we'll have to just ignore that when it arives, as the new information we've given them won't have beaten it to the letterbox... - there's also an odd bit wehre I'll get billed for a short period as sole occupier, where loddger will have overpaid slightly, and then a seperate bill (day by day), for the period W adn I am here, before start of new council tax year... then it will all go a bit more settled I think. Mainly hough, I just think the girl at the council office didn't know what she was doing smiley - laugh

W and I seem good at spreading confusion where-ere we go smiley - biggrinsmiley - laugh I really think most people now, just don't know what to make of me smiley - laugh heck, I don't ... no reason why anyone else should be able to make any kind of rational sense out of me smiley - laugh - even my endocrine professor at the hospital seems utterly confounded by my bodies inability to respond to drugs in the right way smiley - laugh - seriously... my bodies response to the hydrocortisone is the polar opposite of the normal response, and my response to haveing no hydrocortisone, (and due to the addison's thing no cortisole naturally being produced), is the opposite too smiley - laugh heck even my testosterone is misbehaving.... one of thes ehuge nabido testosterone injections is ment to last 3 months, and gradually then build up my 'background' level of testosterone.... I'm now on injections only every two months, and my background level is still sinking smiley - laugh BoB knows what will happen when, as expected I get the letter this week coming to tell me to start on thyroxin replacemnt drugs too smiley - laugh TBH, i'm basically held together now, by cafine beer and gafatape smiley - laugh
