2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Started conversation Feb 14, 2016
Yeh. I know how to treat my husband to be.
left here a bit before 7. after yet another night of my not sleeping, and having constant unberable pain.
got to A&E at about 7.20 checked in etc. sat around for hours.
kept being asked to rate my pain level, etc, so I kept doing so...
Got seen by a doctor, then another doctor (actually got me some hematologiststs and oncologists from upstairs ), to examine my throat.
unbearable excruitiating pain. - to the point I scream each time I cough or swallow, and have done now, for several days. feel very close to passing out soemtimes from it.
They didn't give me any pain relief.
eventually got a 5 ML teaspoon's worth of a codine liquid form... which felt nice for all of about 10 minutes.
left and came home eventually, Drs happy bloods don't show anything bacterial, and seemingly they don't care how much pain I'm in.
unable to sleep. barely able to eat or drink, or take medication that requires swallowing.
Just sitting on the sofa in the quiet and dark, hping it'll stop at some point.
ouch.

Sounds like pharyngitis (I think that's the right translation)
Unbearably painful and AFAIK contagious.

I'm not sure... they seem to think viral; as the bloods didn't show up any bacterial involvement.
and the area itself in teh throat, that is red/inflammed, apparently isn't massively so... which doesn't do much to represent how much it hurts...
I'm wondering if its two things; infection, virus on top of teh neck still dammaged from teh radiation dammage I got; maybe not making any mucus; at the moment, if I go a minute or more without sipping water, I lose my voice, just a sip of water makes it come back
I always thought it was teh DRs ment to figure out what was wrong with us, not self-diagnosis.
ment to be at hospital tomorrow morning to see endocrine nurse for next testosterone injection, if I'm feeling remotely well enough...

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Feb 14, 2016
It sounds like the symptoms I came down with glandular fever. Not much of an actual fever mind you, just of pain swallowing and some flu-ish symptoms too. Once the quack diagnosed it, all it took was aspirins to get rid of the pain and some antibiotics to kill the bugs.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Feb 14, 2016
Ahh... but they did my bloods at the hospital this morning, and there isn't any sign of bacteiria so they say.
The pain is beyond description. all I can do is yell swearing and just scream through it, as it hurts so much. It makes me feel dizzy as if I'm about to fall over and pass out. and, wel, I don't useually mind pain overly much/it doesn't necessarily over bother me, so I guess this actually must be hurting quite a lot just hope I sleep tonight. hospital 11 AM for testosterone injection, then 1 PM at hospital for the final Pilatez class, guess once pilatez finishes I'll have to find some few thousand pounds for private physio and stuff, to further regain use of my arms etc

Glandular fever is a virus, rather than a bacteria, I think. Which means it would be antivirals rather than antibiotics. I think. And all I got was aspirin. I think.
I think a lot

My thyroid,? the one that was in light to recieve some radiation during my radiotherapy? the same thyroid gland I've got, that shows deminished output since before radiotherapy? the one that is now recieving deminished thyroid stimulating hormone, from my pituitary gland which has been crushed to bits leaving mewith panhypopituitarism? - nah. doubt it. well. at least. I keep bringing this up with them, and they keep ignoring me.
Things got.
weirder.
A&E was a waste of time.
agony.
didn't sleep Sunday night after not sleeping Sat night.
I think. I don't know. I think I've been awake about three or four days.
sat up and waited for GP to open, phoned them at 8. appointment for 10 AM.
Saw nurse, not doctor.
Tonselitus.
on antibiotics. and painkillers that work.
still can't sleep tohough; every time I lay down I just cough too much. so I didn't sleep err, last night (Monday?) either.
painkillers wearing off now; but as I didn't sleep, of course, I coudln't take more, all night through; trying to keep to some kind of 'day' and 'night' thing; hence waiting until about 9 AM or 10 before starting on my daily meds.
took 13 differnt meds yesterday.
hydrocortisone. melatonin. codine. neurophen. paracetamol. liquid codine. soluraable codine. disolvable paracetamol. three differnt eye drops. two differnt anasetic throat sprays. two differnt liquid throat err... soothing wetting thinggies.
If this is still reality, I want a refund.

Oh. and was too wrecked today, err, yesterday (Monday) to make it too hospital, for testosterone injection. and. starting to turn back female I think. err. sort of err...
did. did. however. make it into town yesterday afternoon.... (after getting pain relief in morning for first time since thursday I felt remarkible OK for a bit); picked up W and my wedding rings, from the jewlers
*looks at time* not long until I can pretend it is the start of today, and re-figure out what drugs to take when and hwere and with what. at least I know when to take my antibiotics. 1 tablet on pub opening, 1 tablet on pub closing well, 11 AM and 11 PM Think I@m gona have more camomile tea (can't drink proper Indian tea; tehink its the tanins, dry throat too much damnit...) then I might investigate an early breakfast... of something soft enough to swallow as I'm holding off on the pain meds, or they'll just run out early evening tonight and further reduce the risk of my sleeping tonight too
so. tempted to go get a bottle of a further painkiller, today. Port or rum I think. maybe. My hydrocortisone dosing is getting even more improvised jazz style than useual ATM; need to double dose as ill, but with not sleeping, there isn't a 24 hour dosing period ad libbing it really... juggling these drugs is a bit like a jazz imrpro really... all I need to do is try figure out where the mud shark fits in...

The acetaminophen (paracetemol) does enough damage to your liver all on its own. No need to accelerate that damage with alcohol.
That's why I never take the stuff, the paracetamol that is.

ITIWBS Posted Feb 16, 2016
Ditto on the acetominophen.
Should have a standing contraindication for anyone with type 'A' blood.
(I'd be willing to make a side bet, 2legs, that your bloodtype is either 'B' or 'AB'.)
I personally use tramadol for pain relief, more effective than even ibuprofen and less habit forming, and for me, side effect free.
I do still occasionally use aspirin for headache.
The heck of it is there is no standard formulation that works for everyone all the time and finding out what works for any given patient is usually a time consuming and sometimes painful empiric process.
Results on the last round of diagnostic work and antibiotic therapy good, dye contrast ct study shows improvement and the doctor switched me to an antifungal rather than an antibacterial antibiotic for the prostate problem with the result that the prostate function is almost back to normal.
I'd intended suggesting that to the doctor the occasion of the next consult, but doctor anticipated me on that one.
Apparently the infectious agent is a candidiasis organism, a yeast variety, rather than something bacterial.
Still have a systo endoscopy coming up.
I'm not looking forward to that one.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Feb 16, 2016
is that endoscopy where I think it is?! aww...
not come across tramadol ...
it was the co-codamol (codine and paracetamol disolvable that the Dr/nurse recomended, plus nurofen...
took lot less pain killers today, despite not sleeping now since I dunno... tursday night? I've lost count - crashed out this afternoon though, for a couple hours, which hopefully won't stop me sleeping tonight
cough reduced a bit, cept on laying down (hence I guess problem sleeping); only really hurts as such now then, when I cough... the excruitation pain, that nearly made me pass out a couple times, and I think which made me hallucinate a bit, has passed though (guess the antibiotic is working).
glugging this bottle of thick gunky mucus stuff to keep my throat moist, soon as it drys I cough and it gets very painful and I can't talk. (another thing disturbing sleep I think; but is getting better gradually)
enroled in yoga class today, starting MOnday coming ( pilates has finished for now) Endocrinology Friday for delayed testosterone injection so. hoping my prostate function will improve again then too gona asult them then, whilst there, again about my bloods and my thyroxin and TSH etc
although... having not slept again last night, had a productive day today, did laundry and sorted it all (now I'm doing mine and William's of course- I was so born to be a 1950s househife!)
cooked lunch/breakfast for myself, earlier, washed up and cleaned kitchen, and did lodgers washing up. cooked dinner tonight for W and I (W was out earlier in day sorting junk at his house)
bit later than it should be now though... waiting until time for antibiotic then will have another only second of the day I think) disolvable co-codamol, then shower at last then maybe some nurofen before bed, and a bucket more of the mucus/lintus stuff before sleepies (might try stay up a bit later, and sneak quietly into bed besides W, to help me stand a canage of falling asleep within an hour or two of getting into bed maybe 2 or 3 AM I think )
MUST start ploughin on with lcearing junk at mine tomorrow. loft to clear/sort and reoganise
and... I might have to treat myself to a ... present I think... I need a better chastity device right... must do drugs then shower I guess, not shaved my legs in days

Exactly! - and I really do talk/vocalise smileies in RL all th etime!
slept last night firs time since Thursday I think anytin gmore than a short nap
hardly taken any painkillers today, just the anasetic throat spray thing (nonsteroidal antiinflamatory I think or soemthing), and one co-codamol this morning asides that only the hydrcorotisone and eyee drops etc today briefly went out (just to get some fresh air), popped into a couple charity shops; lady in one of the shop was talking to us, and we started talking about female sizing etc.... and she picked up a skirt we'd not found, and showed it to me which I then bought - full ankle length even for me (must be for a tall girl)
cooked W and I pynnipanna for lunch today and I'm gonan go make a rissotto tonight I think, with garlic bread.... probably mushroom risotto as we had the substantial lunch already earlier still sore on coughing and a bit painful, but the throat is easing for sure now
