2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Started conversation Jul 12, 2015
My one day off Radiotherapy/trips to hospital, for this fortnight; won't get a day off until Saturday coming now; unless they screw up again, and I have to have radiotherapy on the Saturday too and, I've spent it doing laundry, and DIY.
Was well impressd with how the DIY was going; stripped down to nothing other than my snazzy pink shorts well, sort of purple I took down the old curtains, the curtain rail, and the brackets that were holding the curtain rail up
Then I looked at the wooden bit at the top of the window ... gosh, tha's seen better days
Hmm. - barely needed to drill any holes for the new rail; there were so many in the rail, there was amost aways one neare enough to where I wantd
hmm. OK.
Shuffled bed out of the way, moved set of drawers under the window, opened window for air; wokrd through all the hotflushes
Screwdriver in teeth, bits in pockets like screws etc, drill under one arm, huzzah, awkwardly and dangerously balancing on the drawers, and sometimes with one foot pushing back onto the bed, for leverage/support, only a couple of times nearly falling out the window
Got all the attachment doobrys screwed in... some not as tight as should be, as I think the woods basically rotten but.... pah... it'l do... more or less lined up too
Cut rail to size, carely...... three cuts, shorteneing it each time, until exact right length
put rail up... notice its the wrong way up, turn over, put up... fail to figure out how attachingment thinggies work but... sort of yell at it a bit, and swear a lot, and ... its sort of looking OK...
hmm. look at curtains. ahh. can't see any way the curtains are ment to attach to hooks.
lucklily, I had a portion of brute strength in my pocket, so used that to somehow attach a curtain to a se tof hooks.... must go do second curtain now; on a tea break... fennel tea this time...
oops. talking of time, must go pop some hydrocortisone.
think I'll bath again later, maybe after pizza for dinner.
must finish sorting out laundry.
so. so much for my one day off from the radiation. start again tomorrow, five days straight through, then hopefully* a whole two days off
Must try sweep upstairs today too, after finishing with the curtains, and the kitchen needs cleaning, lodger's left his dirty dishes there too so I'll have to do them so I can clean the hob and stuff must finish laundry off before I wanna cook; as the window in the utility room is bust, can't use the tumble dryer in there, so its sort of balanced between the fridge/freezer and windwo and kitchen worktop ATM Right. must get on.
Put my radiohterapy p playlist on, to listen too whilst putting the rail up.... we had, a couple of sabbath tracks from 13, Faith no more, from the live at Brixton accadomy, Prince, and cream, Frank zappa and the torture never stops, plus some prodgy, and some dubstep, and a few other random rock songs I forget now... I might put the chemotherapy playlist on now, whilst I put the other curtain up, just for a change.... and to re-live the happy times... hmm, not sure the playists are that* differnt.... oh... think theres some goth dubstep stuff on the chemo playist and some s other things...
Not sure what to have in the bath tonight.... maybe a dragons egg again, or perhaps a differnt bomb.... so difficult to decide.... - right, must go get me fennel tea.

Cool old Guy happy to be able to read the curtain story
"Glad you managed to finish it in one piece.
Just one question: how do you know if the rail is anywhere near horizontal? I know I would be able to do most of the work with my hands only, just I wonder how you determine the angle? "

I'm just puzzled as to how many pockets you had in those pink shorts...

3 pockets. and I only used two. I mainly used my teeth for holding the drill, or screwdriver, etc, whilst balancing other parts under my arm, and then of course holding some too Supprised I have that much coordination left, espe with my arms/hands.... - I'm starting to wonder, that in addition to perlipheral nerve dmamage affectsing my sensory nerves, in my fingers/hands, they've affected some nerves, that are.... sort of involved with ones own spatial awreness of where ones own hands are? It... I just seem to be more clumsy than I'm used too, and misjudge distances with them, very easily... like I'm not sensing correctly where my own arms/hands are now, that definately was not a side affect I knew about bfore starting treatment... makes.... the world all seem very unreal, in many ways, and I think adds to my total disconnect from most things around/about me most of the time - having said which, otter times, I have a far better connect to the 'real world', and indeed more sort of conscious of spatial areness type stuff, but, its basically shot most of the time now - luckily it seems a lot of actions one does, are pretty much autominaous and don't require conscious involvement; like going up and down steps, leaping off chairs, jumping over beds, that sort of thing... I still seem able to do that but it makes cooking and some stuff awkward, as I'm just so much more likely to knock pans, etc, which is somthing I've never done in my life; I knocked over an empty tea cup earlier; I really don't think I ever recall ever having done that before, in my entire life; I'm always far too precise with my actions to do such a thing - even folding towels isn't easy anymore
wow! what a bath! dragon's egg again, and a couldren bath melt, and as i think I must be due it, I washed my hair (its kinda wierd having so little hair it doesn't actually need washign every day!) coconut shampoo... shaved.... and then moisturised with Dreamcream
Must think about putting the towels away, i washed and folded yesterday, and the trousers that were washed earlier, I didn't get round to that yet Not long until next radiotherapy fractionation now and I've still got stuff to do... -- must clean my boots! Mike the radiotherapist/technition made nasty remarks about how dirty my boots looked, whilst he and W were up in the ct control booth; hiding from the radiation I was being zapped with - yep... I'm only doing this for other people's amusement -gona get them so shiney, and then really make a point of them to him tomorrow assuming I'm in his machine this days just zoomed by... really could have done with the two days off this weekend
