I have a piece of software which quite cleverly lets you use it in windows or MacOS. However the windows version only works on 9x/Me and as the oldest version of Win I have is 2000 I have had to download a Mac emulator and copy the system files and stuff over from my old quadra 650, which works for 10 whole minutes before resetting it's self, so that I can intall and use the Mac version on my windows PC smiley - bigeyes

Secretly Not Here Any More

I understood some of those words, but the context was fairly alien to me...

Well it all sounds like a fairly complicated way to get a programme up and running. It's probably one of those things that means you have to go buy a whole new computer or something just to allow it to work properly.

Gah!!! Well I got it working beatifully, with MacOS and all that installed and then the software I wanted to use complained about the lack of Quicktime, so I tried to install quicktime and it said there wasn't enough space on the system hard drive, the file I'd made when I created it was too small. I tried installing it on a 500MB harddrive I created and it said it needed to be installed on the system drive, so I copied all the system files over o the new harddrive and once more tried installing it. I then made the new harddrive the system drive and rebootet the emulator. Now the software will work but the sound, a major part of the software, doesn't. So I swap it back to the original system disk and reboot once more and once more no sound smiley - wah It hates me

Moral of the story:

It's easier to get a Mac than to have a PC pretend to be a Mac.

smiley - musicalnote Now look at that yo-yo that's the power pack, yeah
I run my MacOS on a PowerPC
Your's ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Pay your money for nothin' your chips should be free

Now that ain't workin' that's 'cause you use Intel
Lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb
You've been laughing at their PCs since the 1980s
Now it's what you run your MacOS on

We gotta install virus protection
'Cause the hadware's now vulnerable too
We gotta buy new versions of office,
We gotta buy *all* software that's new.smiley - musicalnote

I'd rather just have a new(er) Mac... one with a PowerPC chip, not an intel one.
