The answer to the question of why are we hear is located http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/h2g2

Actually, that is a lie, but you don't know that.

Everybody has to be somewhere. If you want to master being in two places at once you have to become a Mum - Mums can do everything.

Pehaps I can clarrify this, we are here to do whatever we want!
(within reason)
Besides if we wern't here the pigeons would of taken over; and various pigeon empires would have pigeon wars umongst themselves like we do.

Dance???? with members of the opposite sex. Notice the SEX bit in the phrase 'opposite SEX" and figure it out for yourself.
I think the world would be a better place if every one could just have sex with each other and not have to worry about the meaning of life or, more importantly, the morning.
that and if we had enough special shampoo to deal with the large amount of crabs that would breed in a free 'love' society.

Do you realy want to know? Do you really want to know? You have to
really want to know the answer to the question if you want to find
out. The trouble is, the answer is pretty pointless. The whole point of
the book was to try to get people to stop asking questions like this.
Because if people stop asking stupid question, they might spend some
time concentrating on what is really important and forget about the
meaningless irrelevences that detract from our everyday enjoyment of
the good stuff that is out there. The world is in my opinion, too busy
looking for salt, ketchup, vinegar or soy sauce to spice up what is
already available.

We are here to develop new ways of selling air at higher prices.
E.G. Breakfast Cereal, Aero bars, Chocolate covered rice crispy things that every well developed kid wants.

PIGEONS. These are the future rulers of the planet. Watch out mice. We are here in order to prevent the mice from finding out the ultimate answer so the universe doesn't come to an end. So there.

Pigeons are not red herrings. Pigeons are robots with little mice inside. Red herrings are poor substitutes for babel fish.

It really is quite simple.

Why are we here?

Post 37

so the babel fish is a sort of red herring-in the accepted form of the phrase?

My best friend saved a pigeon from certain death at the hands of our coach. Does that make her some kind of omnipotent figure that I should stick around in the future, or do the mice/pigeons/red herrings now just owe her one big time?
