Way back in the mid 90s I could not explain this three star formation moving. I took it on myself to read up on it and after great research i found it explained in a book. for more then three years i wouldnt accept it was a UFO. What i always find funny is the amount of people who hardly ever look up at the night sky and who know nothing of astronomy yet claim they have seen a UFO ! I and many millions of armature astronomers who spend many thousands of hours each in their own time don't run around reporting UFOs`s but yet look up at the night sky so much more. I have seen allot that at first i could not explain but with research have always been enlightened. at the moment the space shuttle and space station is being wrongly identified as a UFO and it amazes me how little people know about the sky above them.

Sorry Noss there is abundant evidence of Ufo's from many, many people,in the military and RAF and Radar surviellience also so many of them gave open statements and demanded an open inquiry to no avail .
You should watch "THE DISCLOSURE PROJECT" there you will see hours of evidence put by very very respectable people in their fields.
I think it's you who put the wrong emphasis on the term UFO' because all it means is unidentified flying objects, not everyone thinks they are all little green men ,the term used to great effect to ridicule people and put them off.
I like to think i have a mind of my own and think that there is abundant life out there and just because you can't see ,there is a world we do not see untill we look in the microscope same with different light .

dickiestar:
The first problem is that the first part of UFO is 'Unidentified', so it's not really surprising that the majority of UFO reports come from non-astronomers (and there are a whole lot more non-astronomers than astronomers).
You have identified those things you've seen that were originally suspect, so they aren't unidentified to you any longer.
The second problem is that astronomers, by definition, are focussed entirely beyond our solar system; whereas many UFO reports are of objects on or about our own planet. If you watch the night sky, you are'nt likely to see a daytime flying saucer hovering over a Mexican hotel.
I don't argue what people say they have seen, or what they believe those things to be. It's all past events, so there's nothing to be gained by trying to dissuade someone who is firmly committed to a belief. We cannot go back to get our own impression, and their ability to convince others may be miniscule.
I've seen convincing film footage, but most of it has been in commercially released Sci-Fi movies, not documentaries. There are some video tapes that I've not yet heard thoroughly explained, so I'm still comfortably on the fence.
We'll see, when we see. It's like trying to prove the existence or non-existence of God. The only thing that would truly prove their existence would be a personal visit that includes enough time and testing for verification. And, nothing can prove a non-existence.
At least, that's where I am.
