I am now ageing at an incredible rate, or am suffering caffine blackouts. I just posted a couple of messages to the the guide, and they immediately come back saying they were posted 48 minutes ago. Am I in some sort of temporal flux, or have you guys forgotten where the little hand goes?
Hey, no-one told me I was going to be a tester for TDV. Don't they attract high prices in the city as contractors?

We updated the servers within the last couple of hours; we're bound to experience a few minor glitches. At the moment we're just patting our excellent tech team on the back and feeding them with well deserved cups of tea. I'm sure they'll fix things like this, when they've finished the biscuits.
A tester? Welcome to the wonderful world of community; we're collaborating in order to produce something fantastic. And yes, only some of us get paid for it, at least at the moment. But one day...

You haven't hooked the Servers up to the machine that makes the tea have you? That could account for the incorrect date stamps, as it tries to get the tea just right.

My bet is on the database servers clock being set to GMT & the front end clocks being set to BST.

How about a bit of positive feedback to show you guys that I really am a nice bloke. When you get to know me. And if you don't mention the noodle incident.
Anyway, here's something you guys can be proud of.... The site is now quite a bit faster to load after the upgrade.
There we go, I was nice, and it only hurt a little.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge. You even used acronymymnysns and everything.

My bet is that the servers aren't synchronised to the same source (as its 48 mins not 1 hour as would be expected if it was just a GMT/BST thing). Or more likely one of the machines (www.h2g2.com) isn't set/synchronised at all.
But still it's a good job well done. About 2 hours downtime, better than I expected given the scale of the job.

It is getting tricky to keep having the last word.
I agree that some of the servers being out of sync sounds like the simple solution, but if that were so, sureley they could have recitified this when the problem was first highlighted? Or are they THAT cutting edge?

Is it fixed again or not dammit?!
All this yo-yoing about has upset poor Lisa. See to it will you.
There, there Lisa, it will be alright soon

The confusion you were experiencing was due to the magic of load balancing. One of our servers was set correctly, another was not, so depending on which server you were connected to, you'd see the right or wrong time.
I believe it's fixed now - please correct me if I'm wrong.
