Hello, I'm Dan (aka Dan-Dare)
I would like to ask the H2g2 officials for permission to form an Unofficial group, to replace the Guardian Angels I read so much about. I think I have the qualities and knowledge to assist new members after reading all the (official) help pages. If the H2g2 officials do not like the idea of my making this group, please let me know.
I will be deeply dissapointed if I cannot make a group, but I must follow the house rules and sayso of the officials. Remember, I am only asking permission and have done nothing to start forming one yet. I would be very greatful if I could put it on a trial couse with only 5 members to see how it works out and if it doesn't work out, I will de-form the whole thing.
If you need references, please feel free to write to Yahoo.com and Yoome2.com. I have hosted chat sites, offered advice and have very good people skills.
So what do you say?
Dan-Dare

No.
Look, we know who you are, and that you've already set up many accounts on h2g2, each of which always get around to asking the same questions. The Aces are the only volunteer group recognised by the in-house staff, because we don't need loads of rival, conflicting groups all doing the same job. It just doesn't make sense. So no, we won't allow you to set up a new group because firstly we don't need one and secondly you don't have the knowledge or experience to do the job properly and you could just confuse a newcomer who might genuinely need our help. You've shown this in the way you've been abusive to people, refused to listen to them and continued to set up multiple accounts each time we've said no in the past.
Rather than trying to create rivals to the support groups, why don't you focus on a fan group? h2g2 already has lots of groups for fans of Doctor Who, Queen, Star Trek etc. Why not set up a fan group for something you're interested in? You might even get other people to join and start making friends. You don't need to be a member of an official volunteer group to belong to h2g2.
But in the meantime, can you please stop asking the same questions all the time? It's becoming difficult to find new ways to say the same thing.

I really didn't mean to do anything wrong...
I haven't been posting loads of times and this is my first time on H2g2, I just got the idea from the Guardian Angels page, I'm not quite sure what you mean by stop asking the same questions, because I've only ever asked once, and thats the request above.
I did feel really welcome and I did feel I belonged on H2g2, but I just found the first official that is really un-welcoming.
Please donot be angry with me for asking one wrong question, if I'd have known you've had trouble in the past with this matter I wouldn't have asked.
I am sorry!

Without wishing to be rude, we both know that's just not true. You set up an account here last week with the same email address and asked the same questions, unless a member of your household is using your email address to create accounts, or your interest in the Guardian Angels is suspiciously similar to two other people, one of whom just happens to have your email address. Considering (with no disrespect to the Guardian Angels intended) that *no-one* has ever contacted us with a question about them except you, Marquee_Moon and Liam, it's very difficult not to leap to these conclusions.
No-one is trying to make anyone feel unwelcome here, 'Dan'. ut we also have to make you aware that we only have so many hours in a day and only a limited amount of resources. If we're spending our time repeating ourselves because you're playing games with your accounts, it becomes frustrating.
We know from experience that people posing as official volunteers and giving out incorrect information only results in newcomers becoming confused and leaving the site. We will take every step necessary to prevent that from happening. Just as we're now patiently explaining once again why we have absolutely no interest in setting up a new volunteer group for you to play in.

I'm sorry?
My email address?
That email address is a joint email address...
Me, my brother and my sister all use that email address, so if you have had problems or issues with another "male" using that email address, you should refare to my brother. However, my sister is not yet a member of H2g2 yet and if this is how you treat your members, then I'm sorry, but I wish not to be part of H2g2 anymore.
If you could send me the researcher numbers of the other "persons" you are implying me to be, I will discuss with my brother why he is doing it.
I am deeply affended!

I don't want to argue or uplet this matter anymore, if you continue to point the finger at me for my brothers actions, I will be forced to take this further.

Okay, Dan. Let's play it your way...
Send our best regards to Lee, and perhaps you two could start talking to each other and sharing your information? It would stop you repeating each other.

Dan-Dare Posted Dec 1, 2004
Listen...
Before I go and make a formal complaint, I would just like to appologise for the actions or my brother. If you do not beleive anything I've said, at least the apology is there...
I was begining to like H2g2, but after this discussion, I will not be reccomending H2g2 to anyone! I also wish not to be a part H2g2, unless I receive an official appology!
Good bye!

Ok, I have dicided I am going to let this matter drop, and continue as I started on H2g2, but if this matter does appeare again, I will make as many complains as I have to, to stop this foolish nonsence!
Have a nice day!
I appologise for my brothers action once again.
