Cherub...why?

There is a cherub on my user page. I didn't put it there. This begs the question "Well why is it there then?" I don't know the answer. Maybe you do.

H2G2 seems to have handed out random graphics for the holidays. I got a tree, myself...pretty silly as I don't especially celebrate xmas. I do hope they didn't actually put that little cherub on any Muslim Researcher pages, inasmuch as Islam forbids the display of depictions of angels.

Christmas & New Year celebrations strike at h2g2. We obviously can't be selective - we either put up graphics or don't. I apologise in advance if we offend anyone. They will all be gone again after Christmas...

Well, with the geographic distribution here, hopefully you'll get lucky and not offend anyone. I only know about this because my wife is Muslim and she pointed out that she'd have had to close down her page here (if she had one) and it got a cherub by accident. Maybe next year you can take a little more care to select exclusively secular emblems. A nuisance, I know, but this is getting to be a fairly diverse community.

While I don't disapprove of the graphics choices, I can see why they might offend some people. I just thought it was a bit odd for me to suddenly have a picture on my page that I wasn't responsible for.
