I don't understand the message board format
dramajuana Started conversation Sep 17, 2003
I really don't get it at all. I am extremely used to the message board format on sparknotes.com (I used to be on the Current Events and Your Poetry board a lot, but I have taken a holiday from the boards there), and I don't understand the format on this site. Can someone explain to me how it works please? How do you follow the threads all the way through?

ok this is a thread we are talking in now.
all threads (or conversations as we tend to call them) are attached to a page, in this case the <./>feedback</.> page. On each page there is be a coversation list that list the threads attached to that page, on each thread there should be a link to the page & the conversation list for that page. As for thread navigation you can use the "Tree Gadget"
You can find all the info on the FAQ over at <./>DontPanic-Forums</.>
Hope that helps

I just tend to click Randomly....
but that might be why the fora never seem to make much sense
Seriously though Happy dude is right. The FAQ page is a good start.
The one thing I would add is that the easiest way to keep track of conversations that you have taken part in or have 'subscribed to' is to use the 'My Conversations' button on the left. This pops up a new page that refreshes every 5 mins and lists all your current conversations, when you last posted to them and when the last reply to that post was.
This is my list of current conversations
<./>MP49849?skip=0&show=25&s_type=pop&s_target=conversation</.>
If you wondering about subscribing you can chose to subscribe to a forum, such as this feedback forum, or just to a conversation.
When Subscribing to a forum you are subscribed to all new conversations created there. Be warned if you subscribe to a very busy forum such as <./>Askh2g2</.> you may find that you have more conversations than you can handle!
If you feel you've finished in a conversation you can unsubscribe by using the button at the bottom of the page. It will no longer appear on your list of conversations but what you have written will remain there.
If you have anymore questions then give us a shout and we'll see what we can do.

Hi dramajuana!
I have dropped by your personal space and left you a welcome message with some tips.
Your personal space is your own page, the one where you have entered some info already. if in doubt click on the 'my space' button along the left hand side or along the top!
You can visit anybody elses personal space by clicking on their name in a conversation thread (like this) and leave them a message by using 'discuss this entry' or 'leave a message'.
Don't worry you will soon get the hang of it
