I've had the same problem recently, not being able to leave a message to someone's PS because I was not logged on (even though I was, and relogged on and had the same problem.)

The person I tried to leave a message had created their account, I think, with one of the messageboards, only coming recently to h2g2, could that be something to do with it?

It seems researchers from other BBC messageboards can post in Hootoo, unfortunately, we can't start a thread directly with them, we can only reply in threads they have already entered, or begun themselves.

There have been numerous database and server problems lately, the ever present IT Gnomes have been working diligently to fix things up. This Tuesday all the bugs should be ironed out smiley - winkeye (or they'll make some more smiley - laugh)

Smij - Formerly Jimster

Although it looks like they have a message centre when viewed from h2g2, Messageboard accounts don't actually have the facility to leave messages to each other. It's not a bug, it's supposed to work like that.

"So members of the message boards can not be posted to until you have signed in to their Registered Messageboard (their Member Page is part of that Message Board).

And they can only view messages in their Message Center when they look at it from HooToo. They will see the messgae on their conversations list, and probably become a bit confused as thay can not read it. "
