Anyhow Im new and just joined this site the other day. I wanted to ask: Does this guide want everything to be in it? As in, well, everything? What details are considered too small? Is there anyone that can define to me what exactly is too minute to go in here?

Just wondering.

Welcome to h2g2, MrBrickwell! Hope you have a nice time around here... smiley - smiley

To your question - I think that everything is potentially interesting enough to be included into the Guide. If you look at existing entries, there are some 'big' and exhaustive topics as A3970398 'The United States of America' sitting nicely beside smaller ones as A406946 'Aglets' for instance. So it's really everything in it...

RFJS__ - trying to write an unreadable book, finding proofreading tricky

The Edited Guide is subject to Writing-Guidelines which restrict you to 'subjects that can be verified', but doesn't state a scale; the only sure way to find out whether an Entry was on too minute a topic would be to submit it and find out what people thought, but please don't start wilfully testing the limits of PeerReview denizens' tolerance or you'll end up annoying people.

In the unedited Guide you can write about whatever you like.smiley - somersault

With the possible exception of temporary election rules they don't obviously forbid writing _about_ any subject, but rather forbid some ways of doing so.
