Nice Entry, real informative.
I had never heard about it before, and as I kept reading the discussions, I found myself more and more amazed that so many people have heard about sXe... I must be living in a different space-time continium...
...Basically, I smoke, and I drink a bit , but I never get so drunk as to blackout... all of my friends do the same.
I've seldom heard about kids taking drugs or drinking because of theire need to fit in.

Sorry, what can I say...
does all this go on in the US? or in Europe too?

I think it USED to be quite well known, especially in America when punk was 'big' (if it ever was). And then of course came the media saying "look at this crazy cult of skinheads who go around beating up people who smoke", which isn't the idea AT ALL!

This new 'nihlinistic' youth culture described has been going in pretty much everywhere in the Western world, as far as I'm aware, but especially in the UK where underage drinking and sex is some of the worst in Europe. But I think it does depend who you know, and what age you are - you may be fortunate enough to not ever have to face such Peer Pressure, so you're able to make up your own mind as to what you choose to do.

Just out of interest, where abouts in the world do you live?

well, I live in Athens, Greece.

And the truth is that here, things are much cooler here.

I've travelled to big western cities, London, Paris and I can understand what you mean, things are a bit out of hand there.

Greece is a European country, but we are mediterranian, and very close to the East. Besides we are a small country, and even Athens isn't that big of a city. So you see, I really can't have an opinion on the subject, hence I lack the experience...

I guess sXe is a radical (is that the right word?) way to oppose yourself to the madness of the big cities...
