Even before I received your letter, I had planned to write to you anyway, but you will have to wait and see what I was going to say. But can I just say that nothing you have mentioned has influenced what I was going to write and tell you about anyway.......

We are actually online at h2g2 at the same time for the first time in a long time!

But, upon reflection, I wonder if this has more to do with your being online here more-often-than-not owing to the recent liberation of your time. I spent five years here once (between assignments) and am fully aware of how addictive it can be, offering as it does so much more than merely counting flowers on the wall.

Well if I am correct in my presumtion that you are just killing time in the easiest possible way, and because the letter I just sent of which you speak has left me I am in a cautionary and advisory frame of mind, may I tell you how liberating it can also be to actually use one's spare time for real and concrete purposes in real time. You can't imagine how 5 years of housework, shopping, car repairs and ignored freindships can pile up.

All of the above being just for show and the wandering h2g2 eye, I look forward to the more personal details of your promised letter for which I will, as you say, weight and sea.

We had snow this morning and it's absolutely blooming freezing. This evening the snow has turned to rain, and I'm glad to be in the warm.

Is this just a rare visit to h2g2 from u? Must admit I don't come here much myself anymore.

same time must have retained its
freshness even though frozen in time.
It seems to have struck you as current
but actually it was back in September.

My visits to h2g2 are getting rarer but
I have recently replied via email with
some comments regarding the holiday
season which is now more or less
upon us.
