Eat, eat, eat!
8 restaurants at the Gulf followed by lunches at the Ritz!
Friends constantly cooking curries!
And now a birthday party where no doubt there will be cake and ice-cream.
I have to say your Lebanese 'friend' Cruella may have had the last laught and a lasting impact on your girlish figure.
Stay firm, stay slim.

PS: Today is also my birthday so have a piece of cake for me too.

I was having this interesting conversation with Ragau this evening. Ragau (pronounced more like Ragoo) works in my favourite restaurant and originates from Nepal.
He was telling me that when he was a child his father worked in India. His mother stayed at home and farmed as she had very little education. His father would come home for a visit every year, and for the next seven years she produced a child after every visit.
As Ragau got older he needed to produce a birth certificate. But his family couldn’t find it, the officials couldn't trace it and with so many children in the family his mother couldn’t remember exactly when he was born. He was unable to contact his father in India. So he picked the same birthday as his best friend - which is in September - and registered under that date. He later discovered he was born in August -but to this day all offical documents have his birth date as September.
I was telling him that as he was born in August it makes him a Leo. He insists that he’s a Libra in his own country - as Libra has an R in it. Apparently they work them out from the names rather than from the months. So does that make me a Pisces (I’m actually a Cancerian) and what would this make you? I just find it all very fascinating....

A Jonah? A Judas?
Actually I long believed that I was Aquarius. Not just 'an' aquarian but THE Aquarius that was coming with the dawning that they sang about in 'Hair'.
But it seems the Age of Aquarius has somehow managed to dawn without me. Ah well, as water bearers go, I just piss on it myself.

I think I'll stick to being a Cancerian!
Angles was launched in the UK on Tuesday night. How I wished that I was there! But my son is picking up a few copies of the book for me tonight, and sending them over in a day or two. So hopefully I'll get one in the post to you in the near future.
Could you e-mail your address again please. When I was coming over here I had so much stuff I wanted to bring - and I just knew it wasn't going to be possible. I kept taking things out of my case and putting different things in (such big decisions, lol) and somehow my address book was one of the items left behind. I also left my watch by mistake -but it turned out to be a good excuse to buy another....
I've posted my latest story - Someone Else's Tragedy. The first short story I've written since last summer. On to the next one soon...

Glad to hear that. I was going to ask if you were still writing or if life had just gotten too busy with feasting and meeting new friends to allow you the time to 'agonise' over new creations.
If I don't have time to email today, please remind me again when you have the books in hand and I'll definitely send you my address.
I still have yours, but there's no point if you're not there. Of course there's not much point if I have nothing to send either, is there.
And that's just about as much jealousy of your publishing success as I will betray at the moment.

I have little housework to do here, mainly because it's done for me. And now that I've stopped working, and I feel more settled, I suddenly want to write again. My social life is much, much busier here - but I still have enough energy to manage both! (Well just about, ha).
And yes, I do still agonise over my work. But I guess that will always be the way it is for me.
This evening I invested in a laser printer. Maybe I'll get something else into print in time. Who know's?
Did you have time to look at my short story? Would appreciate your comments.
