I know that this may not be guideworthy, but darn it, it was one of my early efforts at online literature and I still think it's a gem. "Diary of a Credit Watcher" at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A480629. Let me know what you think, and if you like it well then smiley - cheers!

It may be worth pointing out that many movie makers reward credit watchers by including special clips or outtakes at the end of the credits.

A lovely little article.smiley - ok

I'm not quite as anal in my credit-watching as some, but I do like to see who has been involved in something I've really enjoyed watching.

However, I think your suspicions are correct; it's not really Guide material at the moment. It could be, though, with some judicious editing away from the 3rd person approach.

Good luck with it

You mean... I'm not the only one?! smiley - bubbly

This is great! smiley - ok Have you seen LotRings? The credits last nearly as long as an average film! How many people were involved with that film. There were quite a few jobs in there I'd never heard of, including the 'WesCam Operater'! smiley - doh There was an army of carpenters involved too. Maybe they doubled up as Orcs (so *that's* what they were all up to down there, they were building the sets for Moria! smiley - laugh).

If you don't think this will make it through PR, how about putting it in the Post. I am going to nominate it for the A666623 column, where some researchers are trying to find good material that doesn't fit the guidelines in various ways. What do you think?

Anyway, I was chuffed to see this, and a whole campanologist society sounded forth in my brain when I read the first line and finally realised what the title was all about. smiley - cheers

I agree. After thinking about it, it seems more Post-worthy. Your nomination is most appreciated.

I did see LotR, although I spent the time during the credits discussing the pros and cons of the movie with the people around me, so missed all the lovely details I find worth knowing. It's hard to get a really quality credit-watching experience when the people you go to the film with are pressuring you to leave. Which happens a lot to me. smiley - cross

This is why I like to rent movies. Then I can be a "campanologist" undisturbed. smiley - winkeye

Is there really such a thing as a campanologist?

I thought a campanologist was a bell ringer - or am I missing something important.

Anyway - if you go to the LotRings website and join their 'friends' scheme for 30 odd dollars, you get put on the credits of the DVD release. This was before the film was released though, so they might not be as short of money anymoresmiley - winkeye

Fraulein could you remove this from PR now that I has been published by the post.

Thanks,
