Probably not.
It's definitely socialist, but whether or not it's Communist depends on whether or not Plato was versed on the views of Marx. Historical study shows that he could not have been, as Marx was born some 2.5 millennia after Plato's death.

Anyhoo, there are definite signs of communal socialism in the Republic, aren't there? The state (polis) is specifically defined, and everyone in that state has a specific function that makes the commune self-sufficient.

Note that the s are supposed to provide phasis. It didn't work, I'll bet.
