h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*The sitting room is a decorative room, with a grand piano, several chairs, sofas, and so forth, a grandfather clock in one corner, and a portrait of Lord Relfection over the fireplace. Lighting lights up the windows periodically, and rain can be heard outside. Gas lamps give the room light. This thread is to be the main story thread, and shall serve as the Sitting Room, the Dinning Room, and several other rooms that the company will explore as a whole. Eventually all the guests will have their own private rooms. These rooms are private and one must knock and ask before entering. Thank you*

*The Butler leads Peet and Mew into the Sitting room*

Butler: If you need anything, don't hesitate to ring the bell

* Peet stops and studies the Grandfather clock. Something seems odd about it, but he just can't place what it is at the moment.

[To Butler]
Thank you. Does his Lordship live here alone? I'm a little puzzled about his motives for inviting me here, as we've never been formally introduced. Or even informally introduced. Hell, I'd never heard of him till the invite popped through my thread. Can you reassure me that his intentions are "honorable"?

Butler: Yes, his lordship lives here alone, when he lives here. Well, there are many servants, but we hardly count as company. As to his intentions... I can assure you that you will want to be here, when those are revealed. Apart from that, I'm afraid, I cannot say. As for his identity... oh wait, there's the doorbell.

*The butler exits*

~Enters, from the entery-way, examines the room, notices Peet and Mew~

Don't worry, I'm unarmed. Pleased to meet you on neutral ground, gentlemen... or... Mew? I've often wondered, are you a gentleman or a lady?

*Walks into the room and sees the others present. He bows with a flourish.*

'Red. Peet. Mew (are you, perchance related to mewtwo and his charming wife vekura?)'

*Enters, trailed by the Curry Delivery Boy*

Excuse me, sirs, but there's a person here who says he has a delivery for one of you. His liscense checks out, so I'll let him make the delivery. Did any of you order curry?

*GL walks in and sniffs the curry.*

Mmmmm. Smells good, but I didn't order it.

*He greets the other guests and takes a seat.*

*the Butler looks searchingly in the direction of 'Goriff' Heavy*
Sir, is this order yours?

*Holds it in the air*

Anyone? See the thing is, right, i need paying, cuz we get too many hoax orders and Mr Patel said he woud fire me i didnt get paid again... *carries on mumbling*

Does anyone want to share? I realise we'll probably be having dinner soon, but I drove a buggy here and that always works up quite an appetite. By the way, did anyone remember to stable my horses?

Butler: I just hope the chef isn't insulted. Yes, your beasts of burden have been stabled appropriately, Lord Blackstone.

[Mew enters and sits "down" on the ceiling, upside-down]

Mmmmmm, that curry smells rather good. What are *those* bits, Red?

I'm not entirely sure. I have been around for a long long time, but Curry always seems to boggle my mind. I just don't understand it, or my attraction to it. Here, have some.

Well, *I* have been around much longer than you, old fellow, in fact, I was born approximately 642 AD. *Those* bits look like chicken to me. This is curried chicken, one of my favorite dishes. If any of you would like some, please feel free to help yourselves. I ordered plenty of forks.

*BBW enters the room and quickly scans the guests. His eyes stop at GL. He glares and his lip curls in a snarl. GL simply smiles benignly, which he knows is the thing most likely to annoy BBW.*

GL: Good evening, BBW.

BBW: Grrrrrr.
