I can't get access to my original post here, so I'll try again to see if it's possible with this one. The article is at:

http://www.h2g2.com/A463583

The entry handles the incredible creations that have resulted from the combination of Lego and George Lucas's imagination. Frankly a lot of this stuff is so must have you don't actually realise that you're buying it until the deed is done. The entry covers everything in the standard System range, as well as Mindstorm, Technics, Character Packs, Ultimate Collectors Series and Keychains.

Marvellous!

Still not finished, by the way. Would appreciate feedback. Added additional information on Technic Lego after thoroughly enjoying building the Destroyer Droid at the weekend and frightening the kids/cat with it.

Uh, what an entry. Surely this one is to become the ultimate one-and-only Guide Entry on StarWars Lego. Did you really buy all these Lego kits? You must have spent a fortune. It's a pity I'm well over thirty so it's not very likely to get one of the kits as a Christmas present... smiley - winkeye

I like your article very much, hopefully it will get picked by a scout soon after you filled up the few blank spots in the article. Perhaps you see to it that you get it soon finished, because until then it won't get recommended, I guess. Apart from that, no nitpicking required. Great article.

I'm making progress. Being such a mammoth article means that doing it in bites is a lot easier. Thanks for your very kind comments. I will press on and see if a finish is in sight. I've had incomplete articles slip into 'Recommended' status before now...

Gnomon - time to move on

This is a very enjoyable article. I didn't think it would be. While enjoying both the Star Wars films and Lego separately, I was never impressed by the kits until now!

The entry is now three set overviews short of completion - so very close. However, I have discovered that there is actually a limit to the amount of information that you can post into a single entry - so I will have to complete some content editing before final posting. I have already removed the conversion piece for the Final Duel on Naboo and a few superfluous comments in the set entries. Shame!

Huzzah! (or whatever) The Entry is now complete and ready for serious butt-kicking. I know it's long, but that's what comprehensive oft entails when any reasonable detail is considered.

Following a bountiful Christmas I have been able to add additional comments on the Trade Federation tank and the Gungan patrol (as I've personally built and played with them - assisted by my youngest son). Additional comments yet to be added on the B-Wing and Trade Federation mobile transporter (much building to be done... many shelves to fill).

Final modifications made for Trade Federation MTT, TIE Fighter and Imperial Shuttle. I would consider the entry now complete - indeed, I don't think the page could handle anything more without collapsing.

Congratulations!

Incase you wanted to revise the article:

Darth Vaders Tie Fighter modile is called a Tie Intercepter.

A463583 - Themed Lego: Star Wars

Post 18

The Apprentice

Actually, it wasn't.

Darth Vaders TIE fighter was an expermental one-off proto-type on which later vessels, like the TIE Interceptor, were developed and based. The starfighter itself was based on the previous TIE/In model and had the full title of TIE Advanced X1.

Don't consider that to be a bad thing. When you start knowing too much you start skittering down the slippery slope to the Nerd Side. Actually, I've participated in a couple of online and several postal Star Wars wargames/roleplaying games that involved a great deal of attention to detail, so this stuff rolls off the tongue like my shoe size and my favourite flavour of ice cream.
