Hello My Friends ,
Tomorrow morning I have an early start . I have to be at the hospital for around 9.00 am where I have to check in to the Cardiology Department .
I have had an irregular heartbeat for about 5 years now, and suffer from palpitations when feeling anxious. I go to see the cardiologist once a year for an examination, just to see how things are going .
I went about a month ago and he is sending me for tests, as he thinks my condition has worsened slightly. He has told me that I have the start of Angina but because of all the other medication I am on, he cannot prescribe me anything until he gets the results of the scans. Then, if needed, he can alter my other medication so I can take something for the Angina, if that is what the scans show. .
So, I am off to have a 'Myocardial Perfusion', which involves injecting a small amount of a radio-active chemical into the back of my hand, then exercising on an exercise bike. After that I will have to lye still for an hour (I will need too after cycling away ), before having my heart scanned, which will take another hour.
Depending on how well I am afterwards depends on whether I am allowed to come home or not, but knowing hospitals, shortage of beds etc, they will push you out of the door even if crawling is involved .
I have another test to have before coming home, and are back next week for some 'resting scans'.
I have guidelines to follow because of having radio-active chemicals inside me, e.g. can't go near small children for a few days etc... I am not sure about the computer or whether I can use a mobile phone yet until I go tomorrow .
I will probably glow green in the dark .
Just thought I would let my friends know in case you wonder where I am. Hopefully though, I will be let home so I can get back on hoo-too .

Oh, heavens, I have enough trouble with him normally, and now he is going to be radioactive and glowing in the dark. I shall never hear the end of it.
Seriously, all the best my dear. I hope all goes well and that the news is good.
Oh, and of course they won't keep you in, they wouldn't risk having you on a ward with all those nurses Don't forget you will glow in the dark so they will know who the culprit is.

Wishing you the best with diagnostic work. Coming out of about a week of "brainlock" (condition analogous to the computer seizing up with a crash on account of too many programs running simultaneously) cautioning myself to take it easy on the reconditioning.

Hello all ,
I am at Websailers and thought I would write a quick message to let you know how things are going .
I had a rough time yesterday being wheeled from one department to the next, having all sorts of injections of different drugs and chemicals eventually ending up being scanned for almost an hour under a tunnel sort of machine. It moved round and round sending me into a dizzy spin .
I am back next Tuesday for another scan, which involves being injected with more radio-active chemical but as a resting scan. The one performed yesterday was with a chemical which made my heart race, as well as different other scans that had to be done.
I am still feeling rather rough, but will for a few days until the chemicals have worked there way out of my system .
In the mean times, don't adjust your screens, it is just the radio-active chemical taking affect .
Thanks for all your kind comments .
All the best.

My sympathies on the tunnel machine. My own most recent experience with one of those things was perhaps the most uncomfortable diagnostic routine I've gone through ever, the tunnel in this case used to immobilize to allow of high resolution imagery. Came away with a classy disc of my head and brain I can run on my own pc that shows everything from the detached bone fragment in my nasal septum from when my nose was broken so many years ago to an exceptionally well rounded and contoured brain described in the official diagnostic writeup as "utterly unremarkable".
Take it slow and easy.
