Sorry - I couldn't write a journal yesterday because I had a raging toothache all day.

Gave me time to catch up - I've been saving your journals. A fascinating way to look at your region, through some of its characters.
I am *almost* inspired to go and look at a map. Give me a few more and...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. My actual dentist is off ill indefinitely (MS). So each time I go in there is a different replacement dentist. I think he vets them pretty well, though, because they have all been thorough and have known from the notes exactly what to do.
After today's session, the pain had gone (well, at least until the local anaesthetic wore off!)
This was the third session of gouging out one of my back teeth right down to the root. Next time (in 2 weeks' time) it should be ready for the final filling in.
I am glad you are enjoying the journals. I have a picture of famous people from this part of the world, and, as today is the 10th, I shall just pick the most famous - or influential one - that I haven't covered yet.
The journals from the 11th to 20th will be about places, so it will help to have a map ready!
