Where have all those Journal Entries gone?

My journal! It's gone! All those things that happened to me in my previous existence vapourised!
The question is, will you be giving us back our old Journal entries?
Bye,

Journal Entries count as conversation postings, so you'll find that your journal entries are part of a very long queue of legacy material to be moderated (in reverse order of posting). Therefore, over time, if your journal entries fit the terms and conditions they will gradually reappear until the legacy moderation process is over and there are no more to do. The same thing will happen to all Guide Entries which are not reactivated by their authors.
Hope that explains it well enough!

Good gracious! That's one huge load of stuff to go through! Will you ever get any sleep?

Oh yes, I will. It's the Moderators who have to do it, poor people. And yes, it is indeed a massive job, but it has to be done.

No, I have absolutely no idea how many Moderators there are. Quite a few, I believe.

There's normally about one squack online at a time, and they have two hourly stints or so. Look on the who's online list for people with normal sounding names, and no postings or entries. People like Jack Farfri...
That number will probably go up as more people join h2g2, especially after the mail shot.

-- Woodpigeon does a quick estimate (very quick and dirty, and not at all scientific) --
So that means that H2G2 will be back to normal in 9 months or so...
Of course, I am using the word "normal" in its broadest possible sense...

Just a freindly ACE doing his job. Be happy everyone, smile. Lets sing a song for the moderators.
"Two little boys, had two little toys,
each had a wooden horse, then along came the mods,
called em a load of sods,
and stamped em "moderation pending"
Keep happy,
Lord Preston

Thanks - that answers the question I was going to ask.
I would really like to have my old journal entries restored but I guess that I will just have to wait in line with the rest of them .
Pooor moderators - having to read through all that guff (yeah I KNOW that it's guff, but it's MY guff) - be gentle with them.

Well I would imagine at least some of the stuff they get to read is probably very interesting and entertaining... there are worse jobs!
